Montreal Audience: "The Words of the Songs Touched Me"

(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts touring company continued its run in Montreal, Canada, for a second day on January 16, 2008. The Chinese New Year Spectacular was a big success and many audience members said they were moved by the performance.

Maydi, a nurse, said the show was wonderful. She liked the songs and the words of the songs most. Maydi is a singer, too. She said, "These songs, the words and their messages, they are unimaginable." "The dances were good, and everything was colorful, but the most important was the words of the songs. Most of all, the words of the songs touched me so much. They are so beautiful and they let me know more about Chinese poetry." Maydi was wearing the dress she bought for her wedding. It was hanging in her closet and hasn't been worn since. "It has been 30 years. I thought it was the time to put it on again," Maydi said excitedly.

Ms. Lucy is 81 years old. She came from Belgium 51 years ago. A professional singer, she established a company for vocal arts in 1989. Commenting as a professional, she remarked that the Spectacular was, "very beautiful, splendid, and very, very nice. It was like a dream. I enjoyed it every much." Lucy said the ticket to the show was a New Year's gift from her son and daughter-in-law. After seeing the show, she said she was going to notify her friends to go see it.

Francine has an eight-year-old daughter adopted from China. So that she could learn more about Chinese culture, they came to the show. They said they loved it. Francine said she liked the backdrops and the dances, especially the male dancers.

Helen Donnelley, a retired native Canadian, said the show was better than she ever could have imagined. "Obviously they have been training for a long time and are very professional. They are so young and beautiful." Ms. Donnelley said she didn't know about Falun Gong before the show. Seeing the programs about Falun Gong being persecuted in China, she said, "(It was) terrible. Nothing worse." She believed there should be no persecution or killing. "The show is good. It educated people and let people know what is happening." She said.

Sarah is a massage therapist. Tonight, she came to the show with a friend, Louise. Sarah said she thought the Spectacular was a great experience, "The color, costumes, and choreography were awesome. And the musicians, perfect. The backdrop technology was new to me. I was glad to get to see it." As for which part she liked most, she said, "All the programs were perfect." She especially likes the Erhu solo.

Her friend, Louise, is a salesperson and speaks French. She said she thought she was going to a big party when Sarah offered to take her to the Spectacular. "It turned out to be a great show of dances and songs." Something else unexpected was that she learned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. They didn't know about it before. She was very touched by the programs about Falun Gong.

Other members of the audience had similar feelings. Grace Fanandas said, "Excellent. Every program in the show was wonderful, beautiful, elegant, and graceful. I enjoyed everything. It was really good."

Angie came with Grace. She said, "I loved this show. The dancers, everything was so beautiful--the costumes, singers, outstanding. I liked them all." She talked about the background projection. "Oh, the background, how can I describe it. I am speechless. Absolutely, absolutely magnificent."

"If there are more shows, I will come again." Angie said, "It's too bad the show only stops here for such a short time. I hope it will be longer next year. I will tell my friends to come."
