Sharing My Understanding with Those Practitioners Who Specialize in the Cultural Arts

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a practitioner, and I love the traditional, divinely-imparted Chinese culture. I do not like the culture of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which has poisoned the Chinese people for over 50 years. The CCP has destroyed traditional Chinese culture. The CCP has also twisted the various traditional Chinese arts, not only in their formats, but also in their content. Therefore, Dafa practitioners have a responsibility to preserve the divinely-imparted culture and resist its destruction by the CCP.

I often participated in art exhibitions and competitions held in many different places. I won many prizes, so I became famous. I was given many titles, including "famous artist," "accomplished painter," and so on. I was appointed to serve as president of an art institute. I was also given the title of "visiting professor" and so on. I received so many invitations from all over that I did not have enough time to participate in all of them. After being in this situation for a long time, I unknowingly developed an attachment to fame and money. This gap was exploited by the old forces: I received so many invitations that I became very busy and could not study the Fa well or do the three things well. After a while, I realized that I should not let things go on like this. I should never go by the old forces' arrangements, and I must immediately stop. I should never be trapped in the mire of fame and money.

I then stopped all my involvement in such activities in order to study the Fa well. I emphasized doing well the three things that Master has told us to do. After a while, I made some improvements in my Fa study and gained a new understanding. Master said:

"You can do any normal work in everyday society. In any living arrangement and at any job, a cultivator can be a good person. A cultivator must be a good person wherever he or she is. As a cultivator, when you do badly in everyday society the blame is definitely on you, as you didn't go about things as a cultivator and hold yourself to high standards." ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Houston," October 12, 1996)

I came to understand that stopping all my involvement in ordinary activities was not right, either. Only by following Dafa can I do things right. So when there are activities that ask for written entries, I use the divinely-imparted culture to attack the Party culture, so as to disintegrate all the evil elements and play my purifying role in the field of culture and arts. To do things prudently, I recently shared my understandings with a fellow practitioner. I asked him to review my writings. He pointed out some areas where I had used some words or phrases from the CCP culture. He also told me that I should not cite those incidents to which the CCP has attached high value.

Master said,

"But the old forces wouldn't allow that many people to be saved, and wished to weed out a portion of the human race. So they created the wicked Communist Party for human society, and especially significant, the wicked CCP has done much to undermine human morality and created a culture of the Party, as well as altered people's ways of thinking, with the goal of all this being to stop people from obtaining the Fa when the time came. The altered notions then look at things with the mentality instilled by the wicked Party's culture. Completely casting aside human thinking and human culture, [as the Party has had people do,] amounts to becoming a deviant being and a part of those who are to be weeded out." ("Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference," April 7, 2007)

This is my personal, shallow understanding. Please point out anything incorrect.
