(Clearwisdom.net) The NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular, performed by the Divine Performing Arts, was staged at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, Greater San Diego, CA, on January 15-17, 2008. California State Assembly Member Joel Anderson commended New Tang Dynasty Television and the Divine Performing Arts of New York for their efforts in presenting the annual Chinese New Year Spectacular and extended best wishes for continued success in the future.

Whereas, New Tang Dynasty Television presents its annual Chinese New Year Spectacular with more than 200 performances in 65 cities worldwide, and in San Diego County, four Spectacular shows will be featured at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido; and

Whereas, More than 650,000 people worldwide will have the chance the experience the Spectacular shows live from January through May 2008, making the Chinese New Year Spectacular the largest world-class Chinese performance series; and

Whereas, the Chinese New Year Spectacular blends the divine charm of the East with the holiday spirit of the West and, through classical choreography, inspiring melodies, stunning costumes, and state-of-the-art background scenery displays, the Spectacular showcases the best of authentic Chinese arts and culture and is a wonderful cultural observance for the greater San Diego community; and

Whereas, The Divine Performing Arts of New York, performing Troupe of the Chinese New Year Spectacular, is applauded for reviving the true essence of Chinese arts and culture and providing an experience of pure goodness and beauty for audience members; and

Whereas, The Divine Performing Arts of New York produces and performs works that center on classical themes and divinely-inspired cultural traditions of China which celebrate human dignity and positive values; and

Whereas, In its efforts to impart the true Chinese culture to San Diego and beyond, New Tang Dynasty Television and Divine Performing Arts of New York have offered an invaluable community service by providing a world-class forum in which people can participate, learn, and flourish; now, therefore, be it

Resolved By Assembly Member Joel Anderson, That New Tang Dynasty Television and the Divine Performing Arts of New York be commended for their efforts in presenting the annual Chinese New Year Spectacular and extended best wishes for continued success in the future.
