Chinese New Year Spectacular Debuts in Toronto--Wins Praise from Founding President of Canadian Theatre Critics Association (Photos)


(Clearwisdom.net) On January 18, 2008, the Divine Performing Arts held this season's first Toronto performance of the Chinese New Year Spectacular. The audiences gave warm applause to each performance.

She said that the hosts gave great introductions, offering insights into traditional Chinese culture, while keeping it light and even humorous at times. She particularly liked the men's dancing, describing it as very powerful. Mrs. Berger described the show as large and very attractive, with dance postures that were dignified and noble, especially the lotus dancing.

She was also interested in the backdrops and costumes. She said they must spend months making the costumes so perfect and beautiful.

Lawyer Norman Griesdorf said the show was fantastic and touching with rich cultural contents and colors
