Sweden: The Journey of Falun Gong Practitioners Over the Past Ten Years (Part 1)

Falun Gong has spread throughout the world. In many countries, people came to know Falun Gong through introductions by other Falun Gong practitioners, or through the Internet and reports in the media. However, Falun Gong practitioners from Sweden in Europe are different. Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, came to Sweden in 1995 to hold a nine day introductory class, during which over a hundred people got to know Falun Gong and began their cultivation. The following is the story about how Swedish practitioners have been raising awareness about the persecution of practitioners in China and allowing more people to know about the benefits of practising Falun Gong.

Swedish Falun Gong practitioners hold activities to introduce the practice and raise awareness about the persecution in Mynttorget in Stockholm. Practitioners are demonstrating the five Falun Gong exercises and displaying pictures depicting the persecution. Many people stopped to watched and learn more about what was going on.

On March 28th, 2006, in Mynttorget near Riksdag in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden, The organisation Supporting Human Right in China (SHRIC) was holding an event to support the nine million withdrawals from the CCP and protesting against the CCP's brutal murder of Falun Gong practitioners by removing their organs and burning their bodies to eliminate the evidence when they were still alive.

On Swedish National Day, June 6th 2007, a young man shouted loudly with his hands waving in Kungstradgarden: "Yanny, come here quickly, this matter is very important!" The important thing he mentioned was to help the end of the persecution by the CCP. After that, he signed the petition against the persecution. As he wished, his girlfriend also signed the petition as he did.

As Falun Gong practitioners all over the world, Swedish practitioners often go to streets collecting signatures, raising awareness about Falun Gong to passersby, disclosing the CCP's eight-year persecution of Falun Gong, even its crime of removing organs from live Falun Gong practitioners for sale by using their weekends. Many Swedish people, as that young man did, signed the petition expressing their support to Falun Gong practitioners who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance".

Not only ordinary passersby but also people from all circles in Sweden expressed publicly a wish for the end of persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP. After the CCP's crime of removing organs from live Falun Gong practitioners for sale was exposed, parliament members in six Parties of Sweden made a joint statement in September 2006, the name of which was "The CCP must stop removing organs".
