A New Practitioner: My Second Life

(Clearwisdom.net) I learned about Dafa in 2007. Although I have not cultivated for long, I have gained a lot.

In the spring of 2006, I was infected with a serious case of hepatitis. I was in the hospital and spent over 20,000 yuan, but the illness only worsened. I lost a lot of weight, and my face became thin and pale yellow. I could barely walk.

My whole family was very worried. My mother said to me, "Why don't you practice Falun Gong?" and told me a lot of facts about Dafa. In the past I was unable to believe in it and had not wanted to understand Falun Gong. I served in the military in 1980 and was educated with atheistic ideas all my life. Now, my mother's words struck me. I said, "OK." In this way I began my cultivation.

The first time I read Zhuan Falun, I thought it was just marvelous. The more I read it, the more I wanted to read. The same was true with doing the exercises. I followed what Teacher told us to do.

In Zhuan Falun, Teacher said:

"The body purification will be done only for those who come to truly learn the practice and the Fa. We emphasize one point: If you cannot relinquish the attachment or concern for illness, we cannot do anything and will be unable to help you."

After reading this passage, I thought to myself, "What have I not relinquished?" Suddenly, I remembered that I still had many drugs that I needed to get rid of. I needed to follow what Teacher said, so that Teacher would take care of me. I studied Dafa and did the exercises every day. Gradually without my paying any attention to it, I felt better and better, and my illness was gone. I felt energetic, my color returned to normal, and I recovered my weight. Teacher gave me a new life. I sincerely thank Teacher.

People around me all ask, "How come you recovered from your illness so soon? What supernormal medication did you take?" I tell them that it was Falun Gong that saved me, and I got better by practicing Falun Gong. Several of my neighbors began to learn Falun Gong because of this.
