(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities and counties in 9 provinces. In this report 18 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

On September 29, 2007, Mr. Xu Zhi, a practitioner from Harbin who was arrested in Baiquan City, was detained in the Detention Center in Daoli District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.

On the evening of December 19, 2007, as Ms. Wei Liming was distributing truth-clarification materials, she was arrested by the police from the Yongchang Police Station which is located in Zhenxing District, Dandong City. At around 7 p.m. that night, they came to search Ms. Wei's house and took away several of her Dafa books. Ms. Wei is now being detained at the Dandong Detention Center.

At 2 p.m. on December 26, 2007, some people from Domestic Security and the 610 office from Huairou City arrested Mr. Ma Changfu from Wangcun Village, Beifang County, and sentenced him to two years in a forced labor camp. At the same time, they searched and ransacked the house of another practitioner, Ms. Bai Qiulian, who lives in the same village.

Ms. Ma Yongyan and Ms. Jiang Shixiang were illegally arrested by officers from the Jinchang Police Station on November 30, 2007, and were and persecuted there. Ms. Ma is detained at the Detention Center in the Jinchang Police Station. She has suffered severely from the abuse of the police and other prisoners. Ms. Jiang is now being detained within the Detention Center in Yongchang County.

On the morning of January 10, Ms. Laozheng from Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, was arrested at the Fugui Tiancheng District by personnel from the Domestic Security of Cangshan. She is now detained in the Xiadu Police Station.

On the afternoon of January 9, 2008, Ms. Li Jingping was reported on as she was clarifying the truth on the street. She was then arrested by a 110 (emergency) police patrol car and was taken away to the Migong Police Station.

On the evening of September 7, 2007, Mr. Li Jianqun, Mr. Liu Tiegua and Ms. Cao Linying from Yongxing County were arrested in the Xiangyong Coal Mine, Baisha Mine Bureau. Mr. Li Jianqun and Mr. Liu Tiegua were sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. They were sent to forced labor camps that are located in Xinkaipu, Changsha City and in Baimalong, Zhuzhou City, respectively. As a result, they have suffered greatly. Ms. Cao Linying was also detained and over four months later, a 610 Office Procuratorate and the court of Yongxing County held a court session on the morning of January 11, 2008, and put her on trial.

At noon time on January 10, 2008, Ma Ping'an, Head of Domestic Security in Hantai District, Hanzhong City, broke into the house of Ms. Wei Caixia with some other policemen. They arrested her and detained her at the detention center on Fengjing Road, Hantai District. The police also searched and ransacked her house.

Ms. Wang Yaojun, who is around 60 years old, and is a resident of Xiangyang Community, Jianshan District, Shangyashan City, was arrested around noon on January 7, 2007. At that time, Ms. Liu Yan happened to pay a quick visit to Ms. Wang Yaojun and was also arrested. Also, Ms. Liu Yan's house was ransacked as well and now, Ms. Wang Yaojun and Ms. Liu Yan are being detained at the Shuangshan Police Station, Jianshan District, Shangyanshan City. Also, Mr. Tian Qi was arrested at his workplace on the morning of January 9, and his house was also ransacked.

On January 8, 2008, the Court of Nanguan District, Changchun City, held court and placed Ms. Gao Weixi, Ms. Wang Fuxia, Ms. Yang Defang, and Ms. Shi Guoliang on trial. The court reported these four practitioners to the intermediate court in Changchun City which then reported to the Supreme Court in Changchun. These four practitioners have been persecuted ever since they were arrested on May 9, 2007.

On the morning of January 7, 2008, Ms. Xiao Minhua was arrested by personnel from the 610 Office and policemen from Lingling District in Yongzhou City. They arrested her when she was in the neighborhood near Transit Bureau in Lingling District.

Ms. Xiao Minhua, 57, is an employee of the Lingling Transit Bureau. Ever since July 20, 1999 when the persecution of Falun Gong started in China under orders of the Chinese Communist Party, the 610 office workers and policemen from Lingling District have continued to harass and persecute her. They also took her salary and froze her bank account.

In early 2000, Ms. Xiao Minhua was sentenced one year in a forced labor camp and was detained in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp which is located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. In early 2002, she was sent to this forced labor camp again for years and was released in January 2004.

On the morning of December 25, 2007, Mr. Cai Changhe was arrested by 4 or 5 policemen in his house. To this day, his whereabouts remain unknown.

On January 9, 2008, Ms. Liu Fengbo's daughters went to visit her. As they were buying some food at the prison supermarket, one of her daughters found that the plastic bag that the food was in was broken, so she went to grab another bag. However, the prison police didn't allow her to do so. A bunch of police came and pushed and punched Ms. Liu Fengbo's family members and pushed them out. They forbade them to visit Ms. Liu Fengbo and one of Ms. Liu Fengbo's daughters was pushed down the staircase. Luckily, she was caught by Ms. Liu's other daughter.

Mr. Guo Hongying, who is in her forties, from Xujia, Wuhan City, was arrested as she was distributing truth-clarification materials in Hubei University on the afternoon of January 8, 2008. She is now being detained at the Dongxi Lake Detention Center.

At around 10 a.m. on January 7, 2008, the 610 Office of Pingdu City, and policemen from the Wangjia Couty Police Station broke into Ms. Qi Ruiying's house located in Wangjiazhuang West Village, Wangjia Couty. They took away her Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. They arrested Ms. Qi and her four-year-old son and detained them in the Wanjia Police Station. The police asked Ms. Qi to write a Guarantee Statement, but she refused to do so. At around 7 p.m. that night, Ms. Qi was sent to the Pingdu Detention Center to suffer more persecution.

Policemen in Baoji City arrested Ms. Duan Xiaoke and Ms. Zhang Xiao'e on September 1, 2007, and sent them both to the Women's Forced Labor Camp in Xi'an.

Ms. Duan , from Baoji City, was once in the No. 7 Team of the No. 1 Forced Labor Camp in Gansu Province in 2002 and there, she suffered greatly. Ms. Zhang, from Zhangjiachuan County, Gansu Province, was once in the No. 2 Forced Labor Camp in Gansu Province in 2002 and she was also severely persecuted. Her father, Mr. Zhang Run, was once sentenced to three years of forced labor and was released in early October 2007. His former employer, the Hydro Power Bureau, didn't let him resume working there.

At around 9 a.m. of January 3, 2008, Ms. Ren Liwei was arrested by the Weicheng Police Station and her house was ransacked. Some Dafa books and materials, as well as over 30,000 yuan were taken by the police.

Mr. Cao Yuguo from Rushan was arrested several times. In October of 2000, he was sentenced to a forced labor camp for 4 years and 6 months and he was released in the first half of 2005. On December 30, 2005, he was arrested again and sentenced to forced labor camp for two years. He was sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shangdong Province. While he was detained there, Mr. Cao Yuguo refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa, even though he was cursed at and was punched, and suffered other means of persecution. Mr. Cao Yuguo should have been released on December 29, 2007. However, the forced labor camp still detains him and will not allow him to go home.

Ms. Wang Honglan, in her 50's, is a retired worker. On the evening of January 8, 2008, the policemen from Domestic Security, Daqing City, followed Ms. Wang Honglan's husband and then broke into her house when he opened the door after he arrived home from work. They ransacked her house and arrested her afterwards. Now Ms. Wang Honglan is detained at the No. 1 Detention Center of Daqing City.

On the evening of January 9, 2008, Ms. Xiong Wenying and Ms. Gao Hongxia from Yingcheng City, was reported on as they were making truth-clarification materials in Huangyao Village, Yingcheng City, and were arrested by the Changjiangbu Police Station in Yingcheng City. Now, they are being detained at the No. 2 Detention Center of Yingcheng City.

Ms. Qi Jingru and Ms. Chen Yuchun were arrested by the Chenyang Police Station, the Chenyang Domestic Security and the Kangping Police Station. Ms. Qi Jingru is now being detained at the Shenyang Detention Center. Ms. Chen Yuchun is now being detained at the Detention Center in Kangping County.

Ms. Tian Qi, in her 20's, lives in the Electricity Bureau neighborhood, which is located at the Xiangyang District, Shuangyangshan City, Heilongjiang Province. On the evening of January 8, 2008, policemen broke into her house and harassed her.
