(Clearwisdom.net) On Oct. 7, 2008, the Divine Land Marching Band Asia-Pacific Division, composed of Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore, premiered in Mysore, India. The band's performance at the annual Dasara Expo became the focus of attention of thousands of people this year. Dasara is also called Navarathri. It is a major holiday to celebrate the defeat of evil. Many media reported on the band, and its performance was broadcast live to the entire nation. The Defense Minister of India and the Mayor of Mysore watched the band performance in person.

The Divine Land Marching Band was scheduled to play at four locations--Chamundeshwari Temple, Mysore Palace, the Dasara Expo, and De Paul International Residential School--so that more people would be able to see it.

Neatly marching along the mountain road to Chamundeshwari Temple, the band played the music of Falun Dafa in the morning. Onlookers showed great appreciation for the music. A waist-drum troupe followed the band and gave a wonderful performance. The spectators said it was very exciting and spread the beauty of the Chinese culture.

The majority of the band members are Chinese. The sponsors and the public gave the band a warm reception. Their performance was broadcast live, nationwide, and the TV network also received positive feedback from the audience, with people saying the Divine Land Marching Band brought peace and beauty to India.

The band played in front of the Mysore Palace in the afternoon. People were drawn to the musicians as they marched along the street. Spectators stopped to get flyers and gave "thumbs-up" to the band and the troupe.

That evening the band played by invitation at the Dasara Expo. The mayor of Mysore, accompanied by the Expo organizers, hosted the opening ceremony for the band in person. The media also reported on this activity. Led by the mayor and the organizers, the band paraded around the entire Expo field as it played majestic but peaceful music. The Defense Minister joined the mayor to enjoy the music.

The Expo organizer recognized the 80 band members that hailed from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore and expressed gratitude to the band for bringing Falun Dafa to India. Spectators cried, "Falun Dafa is truly great!"
