After Zhang Huirong's Arrest, His Wife Suffered a Mental Collapse
(Clearwisdom.net) Since 1999, the year when the CCP (Chinese Communist
Party) began to persecute Falun Gong, Mr. Zhang Huirong, a practitioner from
Pengdu City, Shandong Province, has been homeless. He was arrested four times
despite having left home. The first three times he escaped. Now, his hands and
feet have deep marks from being shackled for long periods of time. He has
returned home only once since the beginning of last winter. During the Beijing Olympics, when Mr. Zhang was repairing his car in his
garage, several police officers showed up and arrested him. They handcuffed him
and put him in the car after ransacking his home. Mr. Zhang called out,
"Police officers are arresting good people!" After his wife witnessed her husband's arrest she became terrified and
suffered a mental collapse. Her mother's family has had to take care of her. The
couple has a 13-year-old daughter and a 65-year-old mother. His arrest occurred
when the family's peanuts were due to be harvested. Their neighbors and
relatives helped harvest one third of the peanuts after they had finished
harvesting their own fields. One third of their peanuts could not be saved.
Additionally, the corn the family had planted did not get harvested. His mother was in tears and said, "Just because my son practices Falun
Gong, police officers ruined my family. They even looked for him last year after
his father passed away. The police did not tell us at any time where they
detained him. It's getting cold now. He was wearing pants and one shirt when
they arrested him. We don't know where he is held, so how can we take him some
clothes?" Posting date: 10/19/2008 |
