A New Life for A Person with Late-Stage Cancer

(Clearwisdom.net) I used to have lymph cancer, but our great merciful
Teacher used the omnipotent power of Falun Dafa to save my life. Today, with a
boundlessly respectful mind, I am writing to share my happiness in practicing
Falun Dafa, to report to Teacher, to clarify the truth, and to share with fellow
practitioners. A. Saved by Falun Dafa When Facing Death I am a small business vendor. I suffered from a lot of different kinds of
health problems. In 2003, things got worse. One day I suddenly felt an
unbearable pain in my right abdomen. Tests from the hospital concluded that I
had malignant lymphoma, and it was in its late stage. It was insufferably
painful, and I had to have surgery. The surgery was expensive. When it was over,
they had taken out a huge tumor. The oncologist told me that the treatment was
not done. In order to prevent its relapse, I had to go through a bone marrow
transplant, and then go through irradiation and chemotherapy, and also be
injected with trophic syringes. This entire set of treatment would cost over
400,000 yuan (about $60,000). As a small business vendor, where could I get so much money? Moreover, the
employees of the hospital witnessed six young men and women die from this same
kind of surgery. In the end, they lost both their lives and their money. Such a
surgery was very far from a guarantee of survival. Even if it was performed
successfully, the disease could not be rooted out. I had no choice but to go
through chemotherapy according to the oncologist's prescription. However, the
tumor came back after five chemo treatments. The chemo did not work, but now my
hair was falling out. After ten chemo treatments, all my hair was gone. I wanted
to cry when I looked into the mirror and saw my bald head. I was still young, in
my forties, and I had elderly family members and youngsters to take care of. I
could not die. But I was just an everyday person at that time. When an everyday
person has health problems, she has to go to the hospital. If the hospital could
not help, what else could she do? Moreover, my husband valued money more than my
life. With so much money being spent on treating my health problem, a lot of
conflicts broke out in the family. My husband and I argued severely. Plus, the
acute pain caused by the tumor made it impossible to eat or sleep. I was in pain
and distressed. My body and soul were completely lost. I did not want to live
any more. In September 2004, as my life was reaching a dead end, I broke down and
started helplessly crying inside the shopping mall where I worked. It was then
that two Falun Gong practitioners came over and told me that Falun Dafa is
really very good and I should go and practice Falun Gong! However, the manager
of the shopping mall had required me to slander Falun Dafa previously under
orders from the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) so that I could keep my job. I was
poisoned by the CCP regime and had some misunderstandings about Dafa. I could
not make up my mind immediately and felt confused. However, I also thought, if
Falun Gong was truly as bad as what the government told us, how come there were
still so many Falun Dafa practitioners approaching me and telling me about it?
With such a persecution, how come they were still persistent in practicing? I
figured that this Falun Dafa must be really good and that was why they behaved
this way. And besides, I had no other choice left anyway! I could no longer
stand this pain anymore. I just assumed that I was already dead, so I should at
least give it a try. I followed that lady to their Fa-study group. At the time, I was unable to
ride a bike. Even walking was a great effort. I had to take a break every few
steps. When I entered the room, a lot of the practitioners in there looked at me
with concern in their eyes. They thought I was a monk at first because I was
bald from all the chemotherapy! They all acted with enthusiasm and care toward
me. They helped me with a lot of patience. I could not believe that there was
still such a group of nice people in the world! The people that I saw every day
were all those who argued with me about money and benefits, even within my
family. People thought money was as important as their own lives. However, these
practitioners here cared for and helped me with kindness. I felt they were
unbelievably kind, warm and exciting. I later joined them in their group Fa-study
and exercises. On the fourth day, a miracle happened! I no longer felt tired
walking anymore, and I could ride my bicycle again. Furthermore, it truly felt
as if someone was pushing me forward when I rode my bicycle. On the fifth day, I
ran all the way up to the third floor in one shot, and I did not feel tired. My
abdomen was not painful anymore, and I felt so light and relaxed! Within one
week, I recovered and I completely went back to my normal life. It was a miracle
that I could not even have imagined before! I could not help myself and burst
into tears! I could not contain my excitement and gratitude. I thought,
"This Falun Dafa is truly supernatural, and Mr. Li Hongzhi is truly great!
It was Falun Dafa that saved my life! I must keep on practicing steadfastly. No
difficulties could block my determination!" I went to the Fa-study group daily to participate in group Fa-study, group
exercise, and group sending righteous thoughts. We shared our understandings of
Dafa together. When problems appeared, everyone was able to look within him or
herself according to the guidance of Teacher's teachings, and at the same time
point out the shortcomings of each other with compassion. The environment was
really peaceful and warm. My health got better and better, and I was feeling
happier and happier. After about a month of practicing, black hair started to
grow on my head. My happiness and excitement were indescribable! I felt like I
had been reborn and given a second chance on life, and it was an incomparably
fine, new life! I felt that being able to practice Falun Dafa was the greatest
thing that had ever happened to me in my life. B. Firmly Believing in Dafa, Passing through Difficulties by Bearing Pain
during the Process of Karma Elimination Since my karmic field was huge, even though Master had eliminated a lot of it
for me, there was still a portion that I had to bear. Soon after I started
learning Falun Gong, the phenomena of karma elimination came up. One day, my
abdomen suddenly became unbearably painful. In the beginning, I did not realize
that during the process of karmic elimination, I had to bear a portion of it. I
thought, might it be that my health problem reappeared? But immediately, I
realized that I had already started practicing Dafa, so I should do things
according to what Teacher taught us. I lay in bed on my stomach, forcing myself
to bear the abdominal pain, while I studied the Fa. But it was still so painful
that I could not stand it. I then called a fellow practitioner in the Fa-study
Group. The fellow practitioner told me to send righteous thoughts. After a
while, this fellow practitioner called me and asked me about the effectiveness
of sending righteous thoughts. I told her that it was still very painful. Then
four fellow practitioners got together to send righteous thoughts for me. The
pain disappeared in a little over ten minutes. I then fell asleep. Later when I studied the Fa, I found that Teacher had taught about this
clearly in Zhuan Falun : "Nevertheless, our universe has this principle of 'no loss, no gain.'
We cannot remove everything for you. It is absolutely prohibited for you to
not endure some suffering." "no matter how
uncomfortable you are, you must continue to attend this class. Once you walk
into the classroom, all of your symptoms will vanish and there will not be any
danger. There is one point to make to everyone: No matter how much you suffer
from the 'illness,' I hope that you will continue to come, because it is
difficult to obtain the Fa. When you feel very uncomfortable, it indicates
that things will turn around after reaching the extreme point. Your whole body
will be purified and it must be completely purified. The cause of your illness
has been removed, and what remains is only this bit of black qi that will come
out on its own to let you suffer some and have some pain. It is forbidden for
you not to suffer even a little bit." (Zhuan Falun) Teacher also said "I do not talk about healing illness here, and neither will we heal
illness. As a genuine practitioner, however, you cannot practice cultivation
with an ill body. I will purify your body. The body purification will be done
only for those who come to truly learn the practice and the Fa."(Zhuan
Falun) I tried hard to understand this paragraph. I realized that this was exactly
what I needed to bear after Teacher had cleansed my body! With the help of
fellow practitioners, I was persistent in believing Dafa and Teacher. I endured
the pain and passed the tests of disease karma. I was looking healthier and
healthier. All my other health problems, big or small, disappeared! More and
more hair grew on my head, and every moment I was thankful to Falun Dafa for
doing all this. It was only because of Falun Dafa that I could have such a happy
and healthy life after being a late-stage cancer patient. C. Clarifying the Truth with Dignity Through studying the Fa, I understand that, as a Dafa practitioner, I have
the mission and responsibility to save people. Teacher said in "Let Go of
Human Attachments and Save the World's People": "From now on, the Dafa disciples in China as much as anyone, both new
students and veterans alike, should let go of their long-standing human
attachments and start to seize the day and comprehensively save the world's
people. Once the current time period is over, the first large-scale process of
weeding out sentient beings will begin. For a Fa-rectification period Dafa
disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came,
saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the
responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification.
Thus great numbers of beings are to be saved by you. Dafa disciples, don't
forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification,
and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only
hope for entering the future." My life was given back to me by Dafa. It was Dafa that extended my life, and
it has not been extended for me to live a life like other everyday people. Thus,
I need to make use of the limited time to do the three things well.
I should not only pay attention to my own salvation and living a good life, but
I must also pay attention to others' salvation. At the moment, there are still
so many people who do not understand the truth. If this affair were to end
today, how many people would be eliminated?! I need to follow Teacher's teaching
and seize the time to save people. I clarify the truth to people at any time, in
any place. I tell them my story. Listed below are some examples. Telling My Story at the Mall There are a lot of people in the mall where our store is located, who knew
that I had cancer and lost all my hair. When I showed up in the mall again full
of life and with a head full of black hair, a lot of people were astonished and
asked: "How come your hair came back? Are you wearing a wig?" When
they touched my head and pulled my hair, they found that it was not a wig but
real, beautiful black hair on my head. They all asked me in surprise if I took
some kind of elixir. "How can a sick person with late-stage cancer and a
bald head became so healthy with beautiful black hair! What is going on?" I
told them, "It is only because I have practiced Falun Dafa that I was able
to come back to life from the verge of death. It is Falun Dafa that has given me
a second life!" All my friends felt that Dafa was really powerful. I told
them to remember that Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance
is good. I told them the facts about the evil Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's)
persecution of Falun Gong, and advised them to quit the CCP and its affiliated
organizations to save themselves. A lot of people renounced the CCP and its
affiliated associations on the spot. Some of them even requested a copy of
Zhuan Falun and asked me to show them the Falun Gong
exercises. They took with them a lot of the truth clarification materials and
CDs. A lot of them have become Dafa practitioners and practiced according to
Falun Dafa. One person I talked to even returned to the practice after having
given it up. The members of my family clearly know that it was Falun Dafa that saved me
from the desperate situation of late-stage cancer. They all witnessed the
supernatural power of Dafa, and they are all grateful of Dafa and hold it in
high esteem. Going to the Hospital to Clarify the Truth to My Roommate My roommate in the hospital also had malignant lymph cancer. She had
chemotherapy three times, but they were not effective. I visited the hospital
just for her. The people in the hospital were all surprised when they saw me
return there so healthy. They asked me how I cured the cancer. I told them what
actually happened. I was cured by practicing Falun Gong. Both the hospital
personnel and the patients were surprised by the supernatural power of Falun
Gong and they spoke highly of it. Some people told me, "Only three out of
the two dozen something patients in the Hematology Department are still alive,
and you are one of the three; we thought you died a long time ago! We did not
expect to see you so healthy!" All the people who saw me that day got rid
of their misunderstandings about Falun Dafa. They started to have a positive
view of it. Some of them quit the CCP and its affiliated associations; some told
me privately to be careful due to the persecution. Later on, my friend also quit
the CCP and started to practice Falun Gong. D. Do Not Delay in Cultivating the Heart or Getting Rid of Attachments, Keep
Pace with the Progress of Fa-Rectification I am a relatively new Falun Dafa practitioner. I began to practice in 2004.
It has been a short period of time both in terms of Fa-study and practice for
me, and my understanding of the boundless Fa is also pretty shallow. I still
have a lot of human attachments that I have not let go. I still cannot take
worldly fame, personal gain and sentiments lightly, not to mention completely
letting go of them. I have a hot temper, and it's easy for me to go to extremes.
I often try to force my thoughts on others, and I have not been able to always
consider others first. I sometimes don't think about whether others can accept
something, or whether it will cause harm to others. This has brought tension in
my family, causing my family members to not get along well enough, and thus I am
affected and interfered with in doing the three things well. I have these problems because I have not practiced well enough and haven't be
able to have a compassionate and benevolent heart. I am fortunate, though, that
I joined a great Fa-study group, and fellow practitioners here are all taking Fa-study,
practicing and sending forth righteous thoughts very seriously, and are all
behaving very responsibly in saving the world's people. I must treasure this
great cultivation environment, and be persistent in participating in the group
Fa-study. I will practice according to Master's arrangement for me, and truly
cultivate my xinxing well. Everywhere and in everything, I will look
within to find my own problems, and rectify any incorrect state of mind I might
have. I will walk well and solidly on the cultivation path arranged by Teacher,
and not let down Master's merciful salvation. I will work hard to catch up with
the progress of Master's Fa-rectification and return to my real home with
Master.
