Several Elderly Practitioners Share Their Experiences
By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China
(Clearwisdom.net) At our group Fa-study, we help each other to
recognize our own shortcomings, and we encourage each other. As a result, we all
improve very quickly. One day, I saw an elderly practitioner whom I hadn't
seen for seven years. She is sixty-six years old and has a great complexion. We
talked about cultivating during the Fa-rectification period and clarifying the
facts to save sentient beings. I suggested that she write down her experience to
share with others. But she said, "The others in my Fa-study group are doing
really well in terms of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings."
She invited me to meet with them. The following are my notes from the experience
sharing. Practitioner A (72 years old): I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996 and
benefited greatly. I wanted to tell everyone I met that Falun Dafa is good. I
was happy every day. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, I was
confused at first. Later, with help from other practitioners, I understood that
Dafa is good, and I went to Beijing to stand up for the Fa. My family didn't
understand at first. I harmonized with the Fa and used compassion to patiently
help my family understand the truth. While doing this, I firmly believed in
Teacher's words, "I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he
or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm
this universe." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture One) I don't have much education. After I saw the video "Teaching the Fa to
Australia Practitioners," I understood that I need to search inward and
make the best use of my time to save sentient beings. I need to let go of
attachments to fear and selfishness. I spread the truth about Falun Dafa and
advise people to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its
affiliated organizations. I also give them information about Falun Dafa and
Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Sometimes, I become too zealous. If I speak about the Fa at too high a level,
people usually cannot accept it. So, I look inside and remind myself not to
become zealous. Then I can tell people the facts based on their level of
understanding. For example, when some business people don't understand, I tell
them, "The heavenly signs are here. As old as I am, why would I lie to
you?" People in general are surprised when I tell them my age. When I talk
to them with compassion, they immediately accept the truth. One time, I was telling people about how the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa in a
public plaza. At first, I didn't get many people to withdraw from the party.
Then, I saw a police car. I fearlessly and calmly explained the truth to people,
and many people from communist youth league quit the party. After that, I had a
thought about helping a CCP member withdraw. Teacher arranged it, and a person
came to me. Once I started talking, I found out that everyone in his family was
a member of the CCP. He immediately withdrew from the CCP. Then, I realized that
the police car was following me. I sent forth righteous thoughts: "No one
can touch me," and I safely left the plaza. One time when I was on a bus, I sent forth righteous thoughts to have people
with predestined relations come to me. An old lady came to me, and I asked her
how her health was. She said, "Not so good." I told her that reciting
"Falun Dafa is good" would help her health. I asked her to open her
bag, and I put a copy of Nine Commentaries in it. She thanked me over and
over. I have a large family, and I try to treat everyone with compassion. My
daughter and my grandson have started practicing Dafa. I use Dafa to guide my
grandson. He is nine years old and knows to search inward. Practitioner B: Regarding telling people about Falun Dafa and helping people
withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, one time when I was
shopping for vegetables, I had already bought everything I needed. But, someone
behind me kept calling me to buy his vegetables. I turned around and told him
about Falun Dafa. He was in fact a member of the CCP. It was all arranged by
Teacher. I have a bad habit of being picky when shopping for vegetables. I need to get
rid of this attachment to self interest. When other practitioners in our Fa-study group were going through illness
karma, we all tried to help by sending forth righteous thoughts, studying the Fa
together, doing exercises together, and improving from the Fa's perspective. Practitioner C (70 years old): I started practicing Dafa in 1995. I never
have any fear when I distribute Dafa materials. I always distribute as many as I
have. Every time before I go out to distribute materials, I ask Teacher to
strengthen me so that nobody can see me. I send forth the purest thought,
"I am here to save you." With Teacher and the Fa at my side, I want to
save more people. Everything is arranged by Teacher. Whoever has a predestined
relationship gets it. Those who do not have predestined relationships do not
come close to me. Practitioner D: The characteristic of practitioner C is that she is very
well-organized and fast. In a big park, she was able to put truth-clarifying
materials everywhere. It is very easy to distribute truth-clarifying materials
with her. She is very compassionate and simple. She went to Beijing three times
and was truly able to validate the Fa. |
