(Clearwisdom.net) There is a seventy-four year-old grandmother who lives in Jiang City, Jilin Province who used to suffer from heart disease, gall bladder infection and insufficient oxygen supply to the brain (she frequently had fainting spells). She also had osteoporosis in her legs and knees, her knees were badly swollen and her legs had permanently bowed into an "O" shape. She had much difficulty walking, and had to hold onto the handrails when she climbed up or down the stairs. She placed her body horizontally against the railing and climbed up the stairs this way, step by step. At night the pain was so bad that she couldn't sleep.

She had spent 7000-8000 yuan, or even more on medical expenses every year. She tried everything but her suffering continued. She later heard about the healing effects of qigong, so she tried four kinds of qigong, but she still didn't recover from her illnesses. When her husband passed away, it was a big blow to her, and she almost lost her will to live.

In 2004, this grandmother was fortunate enough to hear about Falun Gong, and she started to practice. Unfortunately, her family members had been deceived by the lies and slander spread by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and they tried to stop her from practicing Falun Gong. They constantly watched her, so the grandmother had to practice in secret. She tried to become a better person, and she held herself to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Soon there were dramatic changes in her physical, mental and emotional health. Now, besides the fact that her legs are still slightly bowed, she has recovered from all her illnesses without any further medical treatment. She no longer needs to take breaks when climbing the stairs and she can even help with light housework. She is full of energy. She's even started to grow some short black hair, which is startling on her head of white hair. Her family members have witnessed with their own eyes the miracles and wonders of Falun Gong. Thus, they are finally encouraging her to continue practicing.
