(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of a
longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website
(Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). On July 26, 2008, police from the Jiefangbei Police Station, in Yuzhong
District, Chongqing City went to the home of Ms. Xu Wenxiu and demanded that she
not go out during the Beijing Olympic Games. On the morning of August 1, 2008,
Ms. Xu was arrested simply because she went out to buy stamps. The police also
searched her home. On August 4, 2008, the police station showed a sentencing document to Ms. Xu
Wenxiu and ordered her to sign the document, but Ms. Xu refused. The Yuzhong
District Politics and Law Committee, the 610 Office, and the
Jiefangbei Neighborhood Committee then dispatched people to take Ms. Xu to the
"Training Center" in Nanan District for brainwashing. She was held
until October 6, 2008. Due to persecution in the brainwashing center, Ms. Xu Wenxiu's legs became
painfully swollen, and her hands and feet can no longer perform basic movements.
The police station and neighborhood committee also dispatched people to engage
in long-term surveillance of Ms. Xu's home. |
