Chinese in New York : Divine Performing Arts a Source of Pride for Chinese People (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) On January 30, 2008, the Chinese New Year Splendor
premiered at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. Mr. Gu, a laundromat owner who
came to America about twenty years ago, accepted an interview during the
intermission. He told reporters that he has read many good reviews about NTDTV
shows, and has seen them before. He remarked that, "One cannot see such a
wonderful show in mainland China." He said that young people in particular
should come and see the performance, because the show presents the precious
spiritual culture of China's rich long history. The Chinese New Year Splendor
should be a source of pride to all Chinese people. "It Moved Me and Shook My Heart" Mr. Gu said, "The evil Chinese Communist Party has ruined five thousand
years of traditional culture. Many foreigners do not know the depth of Chinese
cultural history. The Divine Performing Arts brings out those ancient cultures
through each nationality's dance, and enhanced these cultures overseas. It moved
me and shook my heart." He also told reporters, that his favorite performances are "the Fruits
of Goodness," and "Drummers of the Tang Court." He said, "the Fruits of Goodness" let young people learn about the
concept of predestined relationships, and the existence of divine beings and
Buddhas. Nowadays, young people do not know about predestined relationships or
understand that everything happens for a reason. They do not believe in what
they can not see, or that gods and Buddhas are watching everything man
does." "Drummers of the Tang Court is very grand," he added. Each Performance Is Fantastic Mr. Lin Lianqin is a computer designer who works in New York.
This was his first time to see a Divine Performing Arts show. He remarked that
it did not matter if the performers were singing, dancing, or playing music,
"They are all amazing!" His favorite is the soprano, Jiang Min, and
the Erhu performance by Qi Xiaochun. He is also very impressed by the live
orchestra. He loves Chinese musical instruments, such as the Erhu and zithers,
saying that they sooth his ears. Computer Designer Mr. Lin Lianqin Ms. Ye is a factory worker in New York who came to America more than a dozen
years ago. This was her first time to see a Divine Performing Arts show. When
asked her favorite, she smiled gently, "Every performance is my favorite!
Every performance was great!" January 31, 2008 Posting date: 2/1/2008
