"Top Ten Young Person" Ms. Sun Yi is Sentenced to Two Years in a Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Sun Yi is a practitioner from Beijing. She was arrested from her home in July 2007 by Qinghe police and sent to a forced labor camp for two years. She is now held in Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Sun Yi received many awards from her work unit and national honors, including being named a model worker by the national labor union. She was honored as one of the top ten "Young People of the Civil Aviation Bureau." However, since the persecution of Falun Gong began she has been persecuted many times.

Ms. Sun was forced to leave the civil aviation system and was interrogated many times by police. When she was six months pregnant, her husband was sent to a forced labor camp. Besides suffering the pain of losing her husband, she was intimidated by an institute of the Air Force (her husband's work unit) and forced to leave the house assigned to her husband. Even though it was not convenient and very difficult, she was forced to move.

When her child was only four years old, Sun Yi was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp. Her little daughter often cried for her mother. Sun Yi's parents are reaching their seventies, retired after 40 years of hospital work. They were badly harassed and later aged quickly. They can no longer sleep well. Sun Yi's daughter now depends on Sun Yi's mother-in-law, who is 60 years old.
