Evil Can Never Subdue Righteousness

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 23, 2008, an elderly practitioner was about to go shopping for Chinese New Year. Just when she was stepping into her car, a policeman came over and tried to stop her. He claimed he needed to talk to her. She did not listen and got into the car. The policeman then tried to drag her out of the car. Her daughter, who was also in the car said sternly, "What are you doing?!" The daughter struggled to close the door and locked it from the inside. However, the policeman still pulled the door from the outside, which outraged her son, who was sitting in the driver's seat. He got out of the car and pushed the policeman aside. The policeman said, "She practices Falun Gong and there is a form for her to fill out." The son responded, "What's wrong with practicing Falun Gong? It's not violating any law. Which Falun Gong practitioner is not a good person? My mother used to have all kinds of illnesses and it is Falun Gong that restored her health. Such a good senior citizen, yet you wouldn't let her go. You guys would arrest her today and detain her tomorrow. 'You have her write a guarantee today and fill out a form tomorrow.' Is there any end to this harassment?"

The daughter also came out of the car saying, "You policemen are really a bunch of bandits. The last few times you came to my mother's house, you did nothing but turn everything upside down. You even ransacked my home." The policeman asked, "What property of yours was looted?" "A camera." "Who took it away?" "It's you police!" By this time, some neighbors began to come around and watch. The practitioner's husband also heard everything, so he came out and asked the policeman, "What are you doing? What do you want?" The policeman said, "Don't be mad. Let's go inside and fill out the form." The husband said, "I have nothing to talk to you about. From now on never step into my house!" Her son drove the car away and her husband went inside the house. The policeman had to leave defeated.

This practitioner's husband is 80 years old and he is a highly educated man who is usually very quiet. During the past several years, whenever his wife was detained, he would go to various places trying to get her out. He also has a habit - he does not read newspapers in Chinese. He only reads papers in English. He said, "Even though the English-language newspapers are also published in China, they contain fewer lies."

This time the elderly husband's confrontation really surprised the neighbors, who all said they had never seen him so angry. What surprised his wife even most was that same night he told her, "From now on you don't have to go to other people's home to study the Fa. I can read the Fa to you at home." She used to be illiterate, but she was able to read Dafa books after she started cultivating.

Ever since the persecution began, this practitioner's family members have put forth endless efforts trying to get her out of detention. During their contact with police, they have gradually come to see the police's true nature, and now they know what to do. They said, "You must not fear the evil. You must stand up to it. Evil can never subdue righteousness. It will collapse when people are no longer afraid of it."
