Mr. Liu Qingyu in His 70s Suffers Mental Breakdown from Torture at the No. 2 Labor Camp in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of November 27, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Qingyu from Shijiazhuang Village of Shidui Town in Anqiu City, Shandong Province, was arrested by police from Liujiayao town, and his home was ransacked. When the police ransacked his home, the man in his 70s and his one-year-old grandchild were take out of the home and they were terrified by the police's violence. Liu Qingyu was taken to Anqiu Detention Center by Li Shenghua of the Anqiu 610 Office.

After Liu Qinghua was illegally detained at Anqiu Detention Center for thirty days, on December 27, 2007, deputy head of 610 Office Li Shenghua extorted 2100 yuan from Mr. Liu's family members. They were told that if they gave the money, Liu Qingyu would be released, otherwise he would be sentenced to forced labor. Liu Qingyu's family members borrowed money and gave it to the 610 Office, however Liu Qingyu was not released.

Afterwards, Liu Qingyu's family members heard that Liu Qingyu was sent to a brainwashing session at Kuiwen [Communist] Party School in Weifang by policemen Han Wenbin of Shidui police station and Han Wenting of Shidui Township Judicial Office. Since July 20, 1999 policeman Han Wenbin has participated in persecuting Dafa practitioners, arresting and beating them and illegally ransacking their homes.

On the seventh day that Liu Qingyu was illegally detained at the brainwashing session, on January 3, 2008, when Liu Qingyu's family members went to visit him, the person in charge said that Liu Qingyu was being transferred. Liu Qingyu's family went to talk to policeman Li Shenghua who told them that Liu Qingyu had been released, but then said Mr. Liu was sent to a labor camp.

According to independent verification, on January 3, 2008, Liu Qingyu was taken to the No. 2 Labor Camp in Shandong Province by policemen Li Shenghua, Han Wenbin and Han Liting. Liu Qingyu suffered a mental collapse after the mistreatment and torture he suffered. One of the tortures included solitary confinement in a "small cell."
