Police and 610 Office Agents of Bo'ai County, Henan Province Arrest and Persecute Many Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) In the afternoon on October 2, 2007, seven practitioners were illegally arrested by the police and 610 Office agents of Bo'ai County. Among them are Ms. Zhang Mang, 56 years old, Mr. Yan Taihong, 45 years old, Mr. Zhou, a new practitioner in his 50's, and several others. Ms. Li Guirong, in her 50's, was also arrested by the police and the 610 Office of Bo'ai County.

Three of the practitioners were taken to forced labor camps. Ms. Zhang Mang is imprisoned at Shibalihe Women's Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. Mr. Yan Taihong and Mr. Zhou are imprisoned at the Third Labor Camp in Xuchang City, Henan Province. The three remaining practitioners are still detained at the Bo'ai County Detention Center. The police extorted an unknown amount of money from one of the practitioners who was then released. Feng, employed by Bo'ai County Hospital, was also arrested in October by the police and detained at the county detention center for more than 10 days. He was released after the police extorted five thousand yuan from him.

On the afternoon of October 12, 2007, the police and the 610 Office of Bo'ai County sent several policemen to arrest Ms. Li Guirong at Yueshan train station. Several policemen ganged up and forced Ms. Li Guirong to the concrete floor, pulled her arms backwards, and forcefully pushed her into a police vehicle. She was then taken to the police station and interrogated. Several policemen ransacked her home. That evening, Ms. Li Guirong was taken to the detention center in Wen County and detained.

After being tortured by the police, Ms. Li Guirong was in very poor condition. She was taken to the county hospital for a physical exam. Her blood pressure reading was dangerously high, 220/140, indicating that she had a serious heart problem. The Wen County Detention Center refused to accept her. That evening, Ms. Li Guirong was taken back to the State Security Division of Bo'ai County and detained. The police decided to take her to the Detention Center of Bo'ai County the next day and imprison her there. The Detention Center of Bo'ai County also refused to accept her because of her condition. The police had no choice but to inform Ms. Li Guirong's family of the situation. However, a sum of five thousand yuan was to be paid by the family to the police for the so-called "guarantee to post bail while awaiting trial." Her family members did not have the money. The family did not have time to borrow the money before the police informed the family to take Ms. Li home right away.

Ms. Li Guirong's is still unable to raise her arms and she is in pain. Her blood pressure is unstable and her heart condition persists. The police, the 610 Office and the procuratorate personnel of Bo'ai County continue to persecute Ms. Li by repeatedly going to her home to harass her.
