Professional Dancer in Holland: My Heart was Deeply Moved by the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular (Photos) By Epoch Times reporter Wen Hua from Holland
(Clearwisdom.net) Indonesian-Chinese Sioe Lan Teng is a professional
dancer, and has won numerous awards in international line dance competitions.
She kept repeating, "Amazing! Amazing!" to the reporter after watching
the Chinese Spectacular. One could feel from her excited facial expressions and
the tone of her voice that she was deeply moved by the show. The following are
excerpts of an interview conducted with Sioe Lan Teng. Professional dancer Sioe Lan Teng in The Hague speaks highly
of the Divine Performing Arts The Chinese erhu made me cry "I believed that such unified movements in dances were only possible in
dances from China or Russia, but today I saw that these people are from the US,
and their movements are so precise and coordinated. The Chinese erhu, my
godness! As soon as she started to play, I was in tears; tissues were not enough
- I needed a towel! I wished she could have played a bit longer. The melody of
the Chinese erhu is so unique. I like two-stringed bowed instruments,
especially erhu. It has such a unique sound. It is a truly unique Chinese
musical instrument. "The sound of the erhu, how do I put it, well, it has a sad
element, especially when it was accompanied with the piano. It sounded so
beautiful. I really want to talk to the player. I want to know her name, her
email address. I want to talk to her! It is hard to imagine that the erhu,
with only two strings, could express such deep meanings. I felt the sound touch
my heart directly." I really want to dance with them "The dances were excellent. Because I'm a dancer, I paid special
attention to their feet. I found that their way of walking was very special. In
ballet, the feet are straight, tips pointing straight, but these dancers put
their feet out first and then draw them back, touching the floor with their
heels. I was not familiar with such steps - I've got to learn. Also they have
such small steps. They looked wonderful. "The Fan Dance, how I wish I could get those fans here! I'm sure they
will be very hot on the market. The fan dance is only seen in Chinese dances.
The fan has become a symbol of Chinese culture and of oriental taste. I bought a
DVD of the 2006 show. I will take a close look later. I'm so happy today and I
truly hope they will come again next year. "The boys were also excellent. It is not easy to do male dance, but they
danced wonderfully. I wanted to dance with them! The drum dance, it was so full
of energy - very inspiring. "They all danced with feeling. The males are robust and stalwart, and
the females are soft and elegant. You need to have sentiment and feeling when
dancing; otherwise it will be like robots moving their limbs. "Their music is unique too. Only Chinese music has such a
characteristic; it goes straight to your heart." Professional dancer Sioe Lan Teng talked about her feelings
after watching the Chinese Spectacular Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is the essence of Chinese culture "In addition to the very high artistic standards, this show also has
deep cultural connotations. The words on the projection,
'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,' are the essence of Chinese culture. I
liked the story of the little girl with her mom in a park. They were beaten by
the police, but were helped by others. "These three words are the essence of our culture. Our children, our
grandchildren should carry them on, generation after generation. Every nation
has its own culture, and Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance is what we
should cherish. If the whole world observes these three principles, then there
would be no war. The persecution [of Falun Gong] by the Chinese government is so
shameful." Posting date: 2/24/2008
