Overcoming a Serious Tribulation with Righteous Thoughts By a Falun Dafa practitioner from Northeastern China
(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. Prior to that
I suffered from multiple illnesses: lumbar disk protrusion, hyperthyroidism,
pleurisy, arthritis and other ailments. With persistent Fa study,
cultivation of xinxing and practicing the exercises, the
various illnesses all disappeared. I feel grateful to Master for spreading the
Dafa of the Universe and making me aware of the real purpose of life - to
cultivate away the desires for recognition, material interests and emotions, and
cherish "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," to break away from human
suffering and gain a new life. Since July 20, 1999, the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the ban of
Dafa and commenced the wide-ranging persecution of Dafa practitioners. I went to
Beijing with other practitioners to appeal legally but was stopped on the way
there and sent to a labor camp for two years. This happened again in 2002, for
another two years, simply for my writing a truth-clarification
letter to people at a local police station. While at the labor camp, the guards subjected me to beatings and verbal
abuse, electric baton shock, monitoring by criminal inmates and excessive labor.
I was physically devastated. I suffered from lumbar disk protrusion and
sciatica. Every minute, I endured piercing pain. A doctor at a hospital
prescribed bed rest, but the camp officials forbade probation for medical
treatment. Furthermore, they extended my term by another five months. I survived
those most difficult days with the help of fellow practitioners at the labor
camp and with my steadfast and righteous faith in Master and the Fa. When I returned home, initially I could not perform any heavy work. I could
only do some light housework. With persistent Fa study and practicing the
exercises, my health improved noticeably. However, my husband and children,
poisoned by the CCP's lies, did not appreciate Dafa. They not only dumped all
the housework on me, but were also finding fault with me and cut off all sources
of money. So, I grew vegetables in the yard and sold them for sustenance. Since my health had not completely recovered and I was busy with farm work in
the fall, I did not guard my xinxing well and I did not do the
three things well. The evil ruthlessly persecuted me physically. I
could not even sit for five minutes without pain. I struggled to walk to my
younger sister's home. I could not sit or stand. I had to lie down to eat. I
could not even walk to the restroom. In the morning my grandmother and my
younger sister had to dress me. During the daytime I was able to read "Zhuan
Falun" and study the Fa and practice one set of exercises. During
the night the severe pain in my back and legs prevented me from falling asleep.
So, I sent righteous thoughts all night. Everyone told me to go to the hospital. I knew the hospital could not help
me, so I persisted. After 14 days of enduring this pain, I invited fellow
practitioners to help. Some of them came; others stayed home to send righteous
thoughts for me. We studied the Fa together and exchanged our understandings.
One fellow practitioner said, "Why don't you sit up?" I said,
"but..." She said, "Master told us that good or evil comes from a
person's spontaneous thought, and a momentary thought can bring about different
consequences." I decided I should not be doubtful, so I sat up and sent
righteous thoughts. Before that moment, I could not even sit for five minutes.
This time I sat for twenty minutes. I sweated all over from pain, but I knew
Master was helping me and watching over me. With tears in my eyes, I shouted,
"Thank you, Master! Thank you, Master!" So, with Master's protection
and with the help from fellow practitioners I overcame the tribulations. Subsequently, I became more steadfast in my faith in Master and Dafa. I will
cherish this fleeting moment that is worth thousands, tens of thousands of
pieces of gold bullion, and make the best effort to do the three things well and
offer sentient beings salvation. I will not fail Master, and will assist Master
