Mr. Yang Guoquan from Xifeng County, Liaoning Province, Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment

Mr. Yang Guoquan is from Juxiang Village, Songshu Township, Xifeng County, Liaoning Province. Before he started practicing Falun Gong, he developed some diseases and could not have a proper career. At the end of 1998, after Mr. Yang began to practice Falun Gong, all his diseases disappeared. He also actively did good deeds for the local people. As a result, he was publicly recognized as someone who had become a genuinely good person.

In 2000, Mr. Yang was sentenced to three years of forced labor for appealing in Beijing for the right to practice Falun Gong. In October 2007, Cheng Zishan (male) and Chen Biao (male), officers of the Xifeng County 610 Office, struck him on the mouth with electric batons. Also, they went to Juxiang Village and Toudaogou Village many times to deceive villagers and make them commit perjury. On December 25, 2007, Mr. Yang was sentenced to three years in prison by the Xifeng County Court. Around January 25, 2008, he was taken to Shenyang Prison and subjected to persecution.
