Mr. Shi Mingchang Detained at the Linqu County Detention Center in Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of February 1, 2008, more than ten agents from the National Security Section broke into the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Shi Mingchang. Mr. Shi was struck, causing him to fall to the floor. He was handcuffed and not allowed to put on his shoes. He was only wearing underclothes and was arrested with excessive force. The policemen took a computer, a printer, a loudspeaker, a scanner, a stereo system and Dafa books. Now Mr. Shi is detained at the Linqu County Detention Center.

Mr. Shi Mingchang, 43, began practicing Falun Gong in April of 1998. Since then he freed himself from the pursuit of fame and profit, and feelings of resentment. There were tremendous changes in him, both spiritually and physically. His diseases, including high blood pressure, high level of lipids in his blood and coronary heart disease disappeared. He also was no longer short tempered.

On July 19, 1999, there was a systematic arrest of practitioners nationwide. Mr. Shi was arrested and detained for 15 days. On September 28, 1999, Mr. Shi was again arrested and detained for 15 days because the National Day (October 1) was approaching and the authorities feared he would appeal at this time. He was detained for an additional 15 days in the garage of the Construction Bank. In December 1999, Mr. Shi Mingchang went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. He was arrested and detained for one month.

In March 2000, there was an assembly of the people's congress. Mr. Shi was arrested without any reason and was detained for a month. In May 2000, Mr. Shi Mingchang was arrested and detained for a month.

In June 2000, Mr. Shi Mingchang went to the park and did the Falun Dafa exercises. He was arrested and detained. When he was at the Nanguang Police Station, he was tied to an iron chair (1) and tortured. Policeman Liu Deyuan (male), from the Division of Political Security, Linqu County Department, stabbed the tip of a pencil into Mr. Shi's armpit. Mr. Shi was tortured so badly he cried out in pain. His wife Ms. Sun Jihua, who was being held in another cell, warned them not to beat good people. Liu Deyuan then tortured her. First, he put a shoe-pad into Ms. Sun's mouth, and took off his shoes to beat her in the face with them. Ms. Sun's face was beaten so badly that her mouth bled profusely. He then tortured Mr. Shi until Mr. Shi could not tolerate it anymore, and hit his own head against the heater and started bleeding. After all this, Liu Deyuan stopped torturing them. Mr. Shi was again tied to the iron chair, and he went on a hunger strike, going without water for six days. Then he was released.

In July 2000, Mr. Shi Mingchang was arrested, and sentenced to three years of forced labor. In October 2000, his wife Ms. Sun Jihua was detained at the Qushan Mental Hospital for 15 days, and then was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Their twelve-year-old daughter was left home alone. The daughter once cried to her mom, "Mom, I miss you, but I cannot see you. Let us meet in our hearts. Every day at 8:00 p.m, I will call out to you and then you answer."
