(Clearwisdom.net) Over the years, whenever practitioners in my city have been affected by serious sickness karma, most of them were supported by many practitioners. However, the help was not very effective. Some practitioners were arrested by the CCP, but our efforts to try to rescue them seemed futile. After so many temporary failures and losses as a whole body, some practitioners became numb, some became passive, and some were lost. Most people put the blame on the practitioner himself, thinking that one's cultivation is the most important and other people's help is less important. From the perspective of the results, it might seem so. However, I realize that the body of practitioners who participated in the event also did not meet the requirements that the Fa has placed on the body. If we could all search inwards, we would find that we still have too many human notions in our cooperative efforts, and we lack strong righteous thoughts. From the beginning, we did not have sufficient faith or strong righteous thoughts, and thus our righteous actions were not pure, so the results were not good. Many people have not been able to understand the Fa principle of "improving as one body." Some do not believe in the power of the Fa in "improving as a body." Most did not realize that if we look inwards as a whole body and truly meet the requirements of the Fa that is required of us, the cultivator in question who needs help will also be able to improve.

In order to protect themselves, many practitioners in mainland China restrict themselves to their own small circles and do not think about the whole body much. Rescuing Wang Bo was when we used our hearts the most, but even then some areas were still very attached to fear. Some coordinators stopped practitioners from distributing truth-clarification flyers for long periods of time and also stopped them from spreading these materials far and wide. Many fellow practitioners have not been able to achieve the selfless realm of treating other practitioners' things as their own things and are not able to understand practitioners who try to rescue others through legal means. Some have trouble with the issue of using money for the rescue efforts. They are not able to understand practitioners' way of talking to judges, and some develop attachments to zealotry, admiration, and desire for good results after hearing that six lawyers were hired. Before many things were done, the obstacles in other dimensions became enormous. Once the external environment tightened, instead of looking inside and rectifying themselves, checking if truth clarification had been done in the local area and if their righteous thoughts were strong and pure, many practitioners stood on their own selfish grounds and irresponsibly threw out some understandings and pointed fingers at those in charge. Instead of silently filling up the gaps, they negated the whole body's power. Many of the coordinators suffered serious interference in the process. It was like a bucket of sand: even though it has a form and shape, the distance between each grain was too big to for it to have any power.

We all know that we have to do the three things well. However, Master's lectures overseas are all explaining Zhuan Falun at different levels. In fact, "no law is absolute" (Zhuan Falun) and Master also said "The next person's things are your things,1 and your things are his things." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference") On the one hand, it is fulfilling Dafa's requirements as a "good person," while also acting to validate Dafa and create better environments. Some practitioners do not want to consider the whole body because they feel that time is precious and urgent. However, we can differentiate between important and non-important things, and allocate time accordingly. Whenever we see news from the weekly news bulletin or from other sources, we should all send out a righteous thought of support, even if it's just for a few seconds, for when your heart is truly moved, the effect is enormous. For instance, when participating in large events or rescuing practitioners, one should judge whether clarifying the truth to the evil locally is important. Of course it's not absolute, but we should complete everything we need to do and also help other practitioners do better. In fact, only when we improve as a whole and create a strong body can the evil be annihilated and sentient beings be saved. In our city, I feel that we are still far from Master's requirements. Many practitioners are still unable to treat rescuing and helping other practitioners as their own task. Many people simply think that it's sufficient to send a few righteous thoughts and even think that it is easy to do. In fact, the power of one's righteous thoughts is directly related to one's "xinxing". Master told us that, "Wherever a problem arises, that's where you need to clarify the facts" ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference") "That's why Dafa disciples' clarifying the facts is the most powerful thing. Exposing the evil, exposing this persecution, that's the most powerful way to eliminate and restrain them" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest Fa-Conference"), yet, many people forget these teachings when they encounter obstacles and problems.

In fact, everything that Teacher tells us to do is for our own good. For a cultivator, one has to look inwards instead of outwards to form a greater, solid body. If we look outwards, we're acknowledging and also feeding fellow practitioners' inadequacies, not knowing that all these are created to help us search inwards to find our wrong thoughts, the attachments behind our wrong thoughts, and to eliminate them in order to be able to have strong righteous thoughts and actions. In my personal view, creating a whole body is a cultivation process. In the process, superficially, everyone cooperates to do things, but it is not the same as ordinary people's cooperation. It is a process in which selfishness is destroyed and the barriers between practitioners are removed, a process in which one walks towards maturity. Every Dafa disciple is doing something to save others.

However, Master has listed the three things as one's personal cultivation in "Fa-Teaching Given to the Australian Falun Dafa Practitioners" and also pointed out many shortcomings in coordinating as a whole body. I remembered the Fa principles of improving as a whole body that Master has taught us. Master has taught us the Fa. I realized that only by walking the path arranged by Master can the selfishness at high levels be revealed--for instance, being afraid of affecting one's own cultivation path, or attachments to results in rescuing practitioners, etc. We have falsely mistaken human notions as logical and rational and allow selfishness and fear to stop us from clarifying the truth more deeply. Coordinators, out of all kinds of attachments, have failed to act righteously to propel the whole body in the right direction. Wanting things to be easy and not wanting to confront hard obstacles, many problems occur. Some develop jealousy after hearing of others doing well; some develop attachments to fame after seeing the gaps between practitioners. Some verbally attack others, some even become separatists. Others have stopped cooperating with the whole body out of strong, self-centered attachments and fear, and at these times use Master's Fa to cover up for themselves, saying that you can do it when you have become enlightened to it. These have become so natural, sometimes, that it is hidden. In fact, Master has already talked about the Fa very clearly in the lectures overseas. .It is only a problem of whether we want to do it or not.

These attachments have made us unable to form a whole body for the moment. After cultivating away some attachments and forming a whole body, there are still attachments to doing work itself, to results, to anxiety in the superficial world, to joy, to competition, to dependence on others, the habit of criticism, etc. These attachments are easy to find.

Over-emphasizing one's own understanding of the Fa or ways things should be done--very self-centered attachments--are manifestations that many people have after assimilating to the whole body at first, and these can temporarily affect coordination as a whole body.

In fact, the Buddha Fa has no boundaries.

"(The Fa) established the immeasurable colossal firmament's all-encompassing and eternal Fa-principles and immeasurable wisdom." (The Blessings From Dafa)

Sometimes I also found the whole body to be too focused on criticizing shortcomings of the coordinator, and sometimes not very compassionately. In fact, we are all disciples and we're all coordinators, only that we have not carried too much responsibility or perhaps we should become responsible for the coordinators. When I saw Master's Fa teaching to coordinators, hoping that they can carry the burden and not give up, I finally saw how hard it was to take that job. I saw the shortcomings of the whole body, including the coordinators, as well as Master's hopes and encouragement for the coordinators.

I also knew why Practitioner A was strongly moved by his attachments after experiencing the lack of compassionate behavior. It was because he was attached to the goodness of a cultivation environment, and when these criticisms and lack of trust emerged, it affected the image of a cultivator's environment in his heart, and deeply affected his heart as well as his footsteps in being righteous in this whole body. The pain made him lose heart many times--these were things that even policemen could not have done to him. For a period of time that followed he could only coordinate things in a small circle around him. In the tough environment he still helped to rescue practitioners and motivated others, but he did not fulfill everything that Master has given to disciples in the whole body. He did not complete his responsibility in the whole body and cultivate himself at the same time. When he finally decided to cultivate away this attachment, he immediately felt that no evil could stop him from becoming righteous and doing righteous things any more. The selfishness and fear were gone. Whenever he met interference, righteous thoughts would come forth easily and immediately. New Fa principles began to appear, and he quickly understood what Master meant by creating both good and evil through one thought at a certain level. He understood why we have to meet with xinxing interferences. I deeply felt Master's intentions to help us improve as a whole body--it was all to help us better cultivate ourselves and complete our responsibilities. No one was exempt. Only now do I realize that, no matter how much it seems that others are wrong, you have to search inside. On the one hand, there are predestined relationships that are being manipulated by the old forces to interfere, and on the other, Master has arranged some of them to help us improve and become righteous. Here, I would also like to wish all practitioners who do not have strong righteous thoughts due to attachments to fear to look inside and search for their deepest attachments instead of just looking superficially.

From another perspective, in forming a whole body, we have to transform our human notions and see the Fa from the perspective of the Fa in order to create strong righteous thoughts and actions. Only then can we motivate righteous actions in the entire body. In the beginning, many areas only had a single Fa conference to help everyone realize the Fa's boundless and supernatural powers, and many practitioners were immediately able to put down their notions and walk forth. Many began to see the Fa and deeply feel that "The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts."("Drive Out Interference," Essentials for Further Advancement II). In helping some demoralized practitioners, Practitioner B thought of Master's teaching: "And don't insist that another practitioner is no good based on some rigid concept you have--I, your Master, believe that he's fine." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference") The Fa gave B the strength and wisdom to deal with the false image created by fellow practitioners with righteous thoughts. He also deeply felt how Master treasured us more than we treasure ourselves, as well as the law of how compassion can eliminate all evil--even those as strong as steel. In rescuing a fellow practitioner, he reminded himself of Master's teaching:

"Get rid of any attachment you have, and don't think about anything. Just do everything a Dafa disciple should do, and everything will be covered."("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference," Guiding the Voyage)

B was able to maintain strong righteous thoughts, rectify his thoughts, and create a successful rescue story in the early years. In the process, he came across much interference from practitioners who did not understand him, and he realized his fundamental attachment about why he was hurt by fellow practitioners.

In the process of rescuing a practitioner successfully twice, he realized after the first rescue that he did not even do as well as an ordinary person with that practitioner's family. In the second rescue, he began criticizing this practitioner and looked outwards at this practitioner. In the end, he was not able to complete the rescue quickly. Master then gave him a thought, "everyone makes mistakes in the cultivation process" (My Version of a "Stick Wake-up") He was very ashamed, and after he cultivated away his attachment to blame, he began participating in rescue efforts again with righteous thoughts and righteous actions. He found that the rescued practitioner also improved a lot and was very quickly rescued. Through years of tribulations, I've deeply felt that cooperating as a whole body is a process of truly cultivating oneself. I've deeply felt Master's teachings:

"We'd say that a good or bad outcome comes from one thought. The difference in one thought leads to different results." (Zhuan Falun)

"This difference of one thought sounds easy, but it can be achieved only with a deep and solid foundation in cultivation." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York")

These are my personal understandings. Please feel free to point out any inadequacies.
