A Sharing with Young Fellow Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a college sophomore. I want to share my experience with young fellow practitioners so that we can improve together.

Watching TV

Today's TV programs are mostly about violence, romance, and fighting for self-interest, which can interfere with cultivation practice. While many fellow practitioners know that watching TV is an interference and an attachment, they still can't stop doing it. This is true with young fellow practitioners as well as with adult practitioners. Master said,

"...a lot of the qigong books are fake these days, and they have all kinds of messages in them. One of our students was flipping through a qigong book and a big snake sprang out." (Zhuan Falun)

But the venom from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is thousands of times worse than that of fake qigong books, so how can we accept anything from the CCP? If one watches or listens to anything from the CCP, including its news, plays, or songs, he or she will definitely be contaminated. Some of our fellow practitioners have not realized the seriousness of this and think that it's not a big deal to watch it. However, when one loves to watch it, it's an attachment. If one loves to watch this drama or that movie, it means he or she wants it and acknowledges it. Unknowingly, you have affirmed it, or you wouldn't have watched it in the first place. From experience sharing on the website, I learned that some practitioners allow no CCTV programming in their homes. Others said that they had not watched TV for some time now. Isn't that something great? There is too much Party culture or warped culture on TV that will interfere with our cultivation practice. We can't elevate ourselves without getting rid of this kind of culture. I still remember that one time, when a new TV drama started, I really liked it, so I watched several episodes of it in one day. I had a nightmare that night, and in my dream my eyes were filled with live ants that were streaming out from my tear ducts. There were swarms of them. I tried to wipe them off, but couldn't. I was so terrified that I never again watched the CCP TV programs.

Pop Songs

Pop songs today are all about human feelings--love, hate, gratitude, and revenge--which disturb the peace practitioners have and prevent them from achieving wisdom. Every note in these songs is warped and frenzied, distorting ancient China's divine culture. Songs are made up of notes, and notes are beings, too. But with today's pop songs, the notes are all warped.

Internet Games

Many young practitioners like to play Internet games. I used to play them, too, and was obsessed with them. The world of Internet games is a particular world in a particular dimension. Any figures or beasts in it are beings, and they all have lives. I played three Internet games with specific figures in them. When I played the first game, I dreamed that I played all night long. When I played the second game, I saw the dimension of the game and I was in it. I dressed like one of the figures and fought the beasts, all foxes and weird creatures just like those in the game. But the foxes in my dream were real. When I played the third game, again I fought toads and wolves in my dream. I was exhausted in my sleep. Internet games are not the only such interference. For a time I played the game on my cell phone, and as a result I dreamed about a huge serpent as thick as my shoulder. Games can get people hooked and are a kind of attachment. It is best if we don't play them.

Make up

Once, I didn't maintain my xinxing well and lost my temper. Suddenly I saw the demon side of me--black circles around the eyes, irregularly permed hair, and an unnatural face as white as a piece of paper, not a trace of human nature about me. I am not normally like that. I was shocked to realize that young girls today wear make-up like that. To show originality, they paint on pitch black eye shadow. Ordinary older people would say they look like a panda or a ghost. A human being has human nature, and there is blood and flesh. Why do they have to dress themselves up as demons?

The above are my experiences and shallow understandings that I wanted to share with young fellow practitioners. Only by breaking through the warped and evil culture can we effectively save sentient beings. To help sentient beings get away from the wicked culture, we must first stay out of it ourselves!
