Belgium: Diplomats: Divine Performing Arts Represents Real Chinese Culture (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts touring company's Chinese Spectacular show premiered to a capacity crowd at the Stadsschouwburg Theater in Antwerp, Belgium on the evening of February 26, 2008. The opening night performance attracted many government officials, including diplomats to Belgium. They said that the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular is of great significance, and that it represents real Chinese culture.

Taiwan representative in the European Unions Dr. Kau Ying-mao and his wife made a special trip from Brussels to Antwerp to see the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular

Representative of Taiwan in the EU Dr. Kau Ying-mao and his wife attended opening night of the Chinese Spectacular. He expressed his gratitude to the Divine Performing Arts for promoting Chinese culture worldwide, and helping the world learn about China. He highly praised the show, "This is an extremely significant matter."

Dr. Kau Ying-mao commented that the show has a two-fold significance. One is the show's artistic value as an art form of Chinese culture. The other is that the show conveys to the world what is happening in China and lets the world know about it. After all, such a performance cannot be put on in mainland China.

He said that the audience today looked quite pleased with the performance. Several ministers from the Belgian government in adjacent seats to his left side highly praised the show. One of the officials commented that Chinese dance is very different from ballet, and he thought it was very interesting. Some officials learned about Falun Gong through the performance, because some western officials did not know a lot about the plight of Falun Gong in China in the past.

Dr. Kao said that art has different forms of expression, but everybody can comprehend the inner meaning behind the art. The show embodied the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.

He said, "As Belgium is a free country, it can provide the Divine Performing Arts an open environment to perform. The fact that the Chinese Communist Party does not allow such a performance brings home the importance of human rights, democracy and freedom."

Ambassador Al Mouallimi also said, "I'd like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the artists who presented such a wonderful performance. I sincerely hope the Divine Performing Arts will come to Saudi Arabia to perform in the near future."
