The Epoch Times: An 88-Year-Old Overseas Chinese Gentleman: I Was So Moved That I Almost Cried (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. He Tiankai is an 88-year-old Chinese American who lives in the Manhattan area. He came to New York from China twenty-four years ago. Mr. He watched the January 30, 2008 opening performance of the Chinese New Year Splendor in Radio City Music Hall. After the show he said he could see new things every time he watched the Divine Performing Arts' perform. He was touched by the beautiful music.

Mr. He said this was the third time he had attended a Divine Performing Arts performance. "I see new things in each of the shows. The music was very beautiful. I was so moved that I almost cried. The water in the backdrop of the dance number "Nymphs of the Sea" seemed to move in waves, while the lady dancers seemed to float on the water. They wore blue costumes. They really appeared to be floating on the water."

Mr. He went on to comment that one feature of the performances is the restoration of human values. He mentioned that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is afraid of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance; the CCP promotes falsehood, boasting, empty talk, and has destroyed traditional Chinese culture. He said that he does not want to watch the shows from Mainland China, as they are full of the Communist culture.

Mr. He stressed at the end of the interview, "I still like Guan Guimin's song most. He sang one song today. I liked, 'The Gate of Heaven Opens,' because the gate of heaven has really opened."

Ms. Zhou Lijuan, Mr. He's nurse, commented that the dance "The Power of Awareness" was the best because it emphasized "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance." She thought it was courageous for many people to step forward to stop the police from beating the Falun Gong practitioners. "As long as people take concerted action, anything can be done!"

Ms. Zhou indicated her good mood and happiness today. She asked who the director and the designers of this performance were, commenting that the show was well directed, that Chinese people are talented and this is something the Chinese people can be proud of.

Ms. Zhou also stressed, "I have watched the show three times. The more I watch it, the more I like it. I will come again. I will also introduce it to my friends."
