(Clearwisdom.net) Jose Augusto Tenorio, the Consul General of Peru and Abel Cardenas, the Vice Consul, came to the Chinese New Year Splendor in New York on January 30.

Mr. Tenorio said that 5% of the population in Peru are Chinese, so he was glad to have a chance to celebrate Chinese New Year with Chinese people. In addition he was happy to come to support an actor in the Divine Performing Arts Company who is from Peru.

This was the first time he had attended a Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year show. He highly praised the beautiful dance and music in the show. The dance "Water Sleeves" and the fan dance made a very deep impression on him. He said that he sensed the profound Chinese culture in the show.

Mr. Tenorio said the big Chinese characters on the background screen--"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" deeply touched his heart, because this principle is good for everybody, no matter what his country or political philosophy. Mr. Tenorio said the program showed that everybody should have basic human rights and freedoms.

Mr. Tenorio is a distinguished diplomat in Peru. He was the Peruvian Ambassador to Romania, and has been a diplomat in California.

Gladys M Garcia Paredos, a Peruvian diplomat in New York, highly praised the show too. She liked the dances and the beautiful background design. She especially liked the dance "The Fruits of Goodness" because of its spiritual message.
