My Personal Experience of Obtaining the Fa Helps Me Better Clarify the Truth

(Clearwisdom.net) Since I was young, I had been fond of Chinese Martial Arts, Qigong, Chinese Herbal Medicine and traditional Chinese culture. I practiced Martial Arts for about a dozen years. I had also practiced Taichi, and numerous other kinds of Qigong. In addition, I liked to do sports as well.

While I attended graduate school in China, my physical condition deteriorated due to the heavy study load and the unfamiliarity with the new climate in a new city. I eagerly longed for a genuine Qigong practice that could really help me maintain good health. In April 1997 I saw a poster about a free Falun Gong lecture series (on video). All the other Qigong classes charged money and only taught exercises but not theory. I was not sure if I should go. Fortunately, a few days later, when I went to the school sports field for physical exercises, I saw a group of Falun Gong practitioners doing the exercises. Standing behind them, I began to copy their movements. Seeing me do that, one of them started to teach me. After a month, my body was disease-free and light. I have had no illnesses ever since.

After that, I left China to pursue a higher academic degree. However, I always remembered all along Master's teaching that we should clarify the truth to people by telling them the facts in a way they might comprehend. I should also share with people my personal experience. Hence I made a booklet. On the front cover I wrote a simple introduction of the effectiveness of Falun Gong as a cultivation way; how practitioners follow "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," and how practitioners study the Fa and do the exercises. I also put the website address with illustrations of the exercises on the front cover. On the back cover I used the questions and answers form to tell people about the persecution in China; why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime persecutes Falun Gong; how many people have suffered from the persecution; how practitioners use peaceful and rational means to clarify the truth to the world, as well as how we can help to end the persecution. I also included a few pictures of some of "illegally-detained" Falun Gong practitioners.

When I met those who had predestined relationships with me I would ask them if they had heard about Falun Gong. I would give them some written materials that briefly introduce Falun Gong, as well information about the persecution. Many people were interested to learn more. I work as an assistant for a professor. After telling the professor my personal cultivating experience, I gave her some materials to read. She read those materials attentively and then told me she wanted to keep them.

Once I met a Christian at a bus stop. She was very interested to hear my personal cultivation experience. We decided that we would meet again so that I could show her the exercise video. After watching the video, she wanted to learn the exercises. Later on she read the book, Zhuan Falun. She even told her family doctor and friends at her church about Falun Gong.

Many people around me have their own religious beliefs. When I clarify the truth about Falun Gong to them, I normally begin with my personal cultivation experiences. Then I give them Falun Gong materials. People generally are happy to get the information. Some of the people I met also carefully folded the materials I gave them and put them in their pockets, saying these materials were precious. Some even made copies for their relatives and friends to read.
