Mr. Shao Yunhai from Wangqing County of Jilin Province Illegally Detained

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Shao Yunhai is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wangqing County in Jilin Province. He was placed in detention on December 17 and illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor. The police sent him to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp. Wangqing County Public Security Bureau claimed that Shao Yunhai was a "fugitive" because he had left his village to find work after the police confiscated his farming land. Shao Yunhai had serious illnesses and was in a lot of debt before he began practicing Falun Gong. He could not afford to rent a piece of land. He recovered his health after practicing Falun Gong. In 2004, he planted some carrots and other vegetables in a plot of land rented from another person in Mudan Village of Dongguang Township, Wangqing County. The vegetables grew very well. The head of the village reported Shao Yunhai to the Public Security Bureau for practicing Falun Gong and they took the land away from him.

Public Security Bureau police went to Shao Yunhai's home and took away all his Dafa books and materials. Shao Yunhai had to give up the vegetable garden where he had put in a lot of effort. He left Mudan village to work elsewhere. Over the past few years he has worked very hard to earn money to repay his debts. Despite his efforts to be a good citizen, the Wangqing County Public Security Bureau called him a "fugitive."
