Exposing the Persecution of Ms. Zhang Yulan at Tianjin Women's Prison in Hebei Province

Ms. Zhang Yulan, in her 50s, is a teacher in Tianjin City. She suffered from several diseases before beginning Falun Gong practice. After she began practicing, her illnesses all disappeared. She was illegally arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials about in March 2002. Later she was imprisoned and tortured in Nankaiqu Detention Center and then sent to Tianjin City Xiqing Detention Center. She was illegally sentenced to eight years by the Xiqing Court and she has since been imprisoned in the fourth ward of Tianjin Women's Prison. In the prison, the guards brutally tortured her. Due to long term persecution, Ms. Zhang's illnesses have recurred. Her health is now poor and she cannot not take care of herself.
