General Director of the KaoHsiung City Symphony Orchestra: Every Dance and Song Conveys a Message(Photo) By Minghui Reporter Sun Bai in Kaohsuing, Taiwan

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 7, 2008, the fourth showing of the Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular in Kaohsiung drew the attendance of Mr. Chun Hung-chang, general director of the Kaohsiung City Symphony Orchestra, which is well-known in Taiwan and has even gained a reputation in Australia.

Mr. Chu Hung-chang, general director of the KaoHsiung City Symphony Orchestra: Every dance and every song conveys a message.
Mr. Chu said, "The whole performance flows well, especially in the form of Chinese dance. The dancers' postures and movements are very smooth and peaceful. In Taiwan, we seldom have the opportunity to see ethnic dances like this. I was quite touched. Every piece, whether dancing or singing, conveys a message. It's more than a dance performance. The orchestra fits well with the dances, very smooth, very good, and it's not easy. It's more than Chinese music."

Mr. Chu said that this was the first time he had seen such a performance. He was most impressed by the dancing. He said, "The dancing is soul-touching. It flows very well. Classical Chinese taste."

"The singers are calm, and expressed the meanings of their songs appropriately. I think that's important, because the singer should not try to show him or herself off, nor is he or she singing some pop music. When they sing, their body language and their minds work well to appropriately convey the messages of their songs. I think they were really good."

Mr. Chu Hung-chang was acting principal of the Lo-Yu-Senior High School, advisor to the Kaohsiung Medical University Chorus, and musical lecturer at the National Kaohsiung Hospitality College. In 1985, he established the music class in the Lo-Yu-Senior High School and trained many musical talents and teachers. With Mr. Chu Hung-chang as the chorus master, the Lo-Yu Senior High School chorus has won first prize seven years in a row in the Taiwan District musical competition, which is a testament to his talent as a choir master. Mr. Chu has often led the orchestra and chorus to perform around the world.
