The DPA's arrival in Chiyi was a hot topic among people in Chiyi. A group of tea farmers rented a tour bus for a one-day Chiyi tour, to see the Chinese Spectacular in the evening. A group of ladies in the "mother classroom" bought tickets and took a one-day Chiyi tour so they could attend the performance in the evening.

On the afternoon of March 20, the audience formed a long line on the square in front of National Chung Cheng University Concert Hall. Among them were forty art major students from Houbi High School, led by instructor Cai Kun-chin. One student said happily, "It is our field trip and practice session: watching the Chinese Spectacular."

Jao His-bo, director of the Chiyi Department of Culture, said, "It is very difficult to present a dramatic story by artistic performance, but the performers accurately and consistently depict the story elements in their performance."

Chou Hsiu-you, a member of Yunlin County Council and a person-in-charge of the dancing association, viewed the Chinese Spectacular from a professional angle. She said, "The Chinese Spectacular transcends the realm of dancing because the programs move people's hearts. The presentation is beyond ordinary arts."

Li Ying-kun, director of the Lanting Calligraphy and Painting Association, said emotionally, "According to Buddhist school, now is the Dharma-ending period. In such a chaotic world, the Chinese Spectacular cleans people's minds and helps them understand that in the ancient Tang Dynasty, people's hearts were so pure that doors did not need to be locked at night." He made a point of mentioning, "Falun Dafa is good. Why is it good? It is good for people to have pure hearts, and have hope and bright futures. No matter how degraded and dark the society is, a bright future lies ahead for good people. It encourages people to have hope and regain confidence."
