Ms. Luo Liqin and Ms. Jiang Lingxia from Susong County, Anhui Province, Sentenced to Forced Labor

On February 1, 2008, agents from the Domestic Security Department of Susong County, Anqing City, Anhui Province, coerced Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Luo Liqin to go to the police station, saying she would get a refund on her fines. Once there she was forcibly detained. That afternoon, officers took Ms. Luo and another practitioner, Ms. Jiang Lingxia, to Hefei City in Anhui Province. Ms. Jiang was sentenced to one year in of forced labor, and Ms. Luo was sentenced to one year and three months. That same day, local police began making mass arrests of practitioners. Susong County High School teacher Mr. Zhang Chenghua from Suzhong County was arrested at school. Practitioner Ms. Zheng Zaiju from Tongling City was arrested at her home.
