Additional Persecution News from China - March 10, 2008 (13 Reports)

Today's report relates persecution incidents that involve ten cities or counties in six provinces. Six Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal treatment during detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.
  1. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Guixia Injected with Unknown Drugs and Is in Peril in Linghai City Detention Center
  2. [Beijing] Mr. Bai Shaohua and Mr. Yang Hui Sentenced to Forced Labor
  3. [Yulin City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Guangtian Arrested
  4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Being Held at the Xushui County Detention Center
  5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Liping Held at a Detention Center
  6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners on Trial Again
  7. [Wu'an City, Hebei Province] Ms. Miao Haizhou and Ms. Wang Xiuhong Arrested
  8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest a Practitioner
  9. [Bangbu City, Anhui City] Personnel from the Bangshan Police Department Ransacked Four Practitioners' Homes and Arrested Them
  10. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Yanwei Arrested
  11. [Luan County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
  12. [Beijing] Ms. Zhong Yanhong from Guangdong Province Was Arrested on March 9, 2008
  13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Personnel from the Aohan Domestic Security Division Arrested Mr. Zhang Guoqiang

1. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Guixia Injected with Unknown Drugs and Is in Peril in Linghai City Detention Center

Ms. Ren Guixia and her husband, Mr. Zhang Guoxin, from Linghai City were arrested and put in the city's detention center on February 25, 2008. Ms. Ren has staged a persecution-protest hunger strike ever since. According to reliable sources, police injected Ms. Ren with unknown drugs. Her life is now in peril.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Bai Shaohua and Mr. Yang Hui Sentenced to Forced Labor

Mr. Bai Shaohua and Mr. Yang Hui, who were arrested on February 20, 2008, have been sentenced to forced labor. Mr. Yang was sentenced to two and a half years; Mr. Bai's term is unknown. It is heard that Mr. Bai has been sent to a hospital for emergency treatment.

3. [Yulin City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Guangtian Arrested

Police arrested Mr. Zhang Guangtian from Shenmu County, Yulin City, the night of February 18, 2008, when he posted Falun Gong materials. He is presently being held at the county detention center. His family's visits have been denied.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Being Held at the Xushui County Detention Center

Police arrested Ms. Wang Guilan and Ms. Zhang from their homes in Gaolin Village, Xushui County, Baoding City, and ransacked their places the morning of March 7, 2008. They are presently being held at the county's detention center.

5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Liping Held at a Detention Center

Ms. Yang Liping lives near Limin Street. Personnel from the Nanguan Avenue Police Station in the Nanshi District, Baoding City, arrested her the night of March 1, 2008, when she posted Falun Gong materials. Ms. Yang is presently being held in the city's detention center.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners on Trial Again

Shahekou District Court agents in Dalian City held a trial for Mr. Liu Honghan, Ms. Ma Mingxiu and Ms. Sun Shufen on January 18, 2008. They held an additional trial and sentenced the three practitioners to three years in prison the morning of March 6, 2008.

7. [Wu'an City, Hebei Province] Ms. Miao Haizhou and Ms. Wang Xiuhong Arrested

Ms. Miao Haizhou and her daughter, Ms. Wang Xiuhong, from Qinghua Township, Wu'an City, were sentenced to one year and nine months and one year of forced labor, respectively, on March 5, 2008. They are presently being held in the Women's Prison in Shijiazhuang City.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest a Practitioner

Police arrested a practitioner on a motorcycle from the Wu'ai District to the Tiexi District the night of March 8, 2008.

9. [Bangbu City, Anhui City] Personnel from the Bangshan Police Department Ransacked Four Practitioners' Homes and Arrested Them

Personnel form the Bangshan Police Department ransacked four practitioners' homes and arrested them on March 5, 2008. They are being held in the No.1 Detention Center in Bangbu City. They are Mr. Huang Andong, Ms. Wang Suqin, and Ms. Pan Yuling.

10. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Yanwei Arrested

Personnel from the Xinglong Police Station arrested Ms. Chen Yanwei from her home in Mudanjiang City the night of March 7, 2008. Police confiscated some Dafa books and a computer. Ms. Chen is presently being held at the police station.

11. [Luan County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners from Luan County were recently arrested. Personnel from the No.1 Section of the county's police department arrested Ms. Meng Cuimei on February 21, 2008. Police arrested Ms. Li Yuping, Han, Mr. Wang and his wife and ransacked their homes on March 5, 2008. These practitioners are presently being held in the county's detention center.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Zhong Yanhong from Guangdong Province Was Arrested on March 9, 2008

13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Personnel from the Aohan Domestic Security Division Arrested Mr. Zhang Guoqiang

Aohan Domestic Security Division Chief Yao Zhenting and Jinchang Gouliang Town Police Station Chief Guo Changjiang arrested Mr. Zhang Guoqiang. They confiscated some cash and truth-clarification materials on March 6, 2008. Mr. Zhang is presently being held in the Aohan Detention Center in Chifeng City.
