Mr. Li Wenbo was incarcerated in Division 4 of the Yunnan Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp on February 6, 2005, and he remains at this forced labor camp to this day. During this time he has has often been savagely tortured. His eyes were damaged from a beating on January 13, 2006, and never recovered. Six of his teeth have been knocked out. He may have also suffered a back injury from multiple beatings because he can only sit up, and is unable to lie down at night.

On one occasion when he was taken to the Wuding County Hospital for an exam, the doctor issued a certificate for him to receive further examinations in Kunming City [capital of Yunnan Province], but the doctor's request was denied. The camp guards transferred Mr. Li Wenbo from Division 4 to Division 3 on August 21, 2007. The captors once again took him to the Wuding County Hospital on October 23, 2007. The examining physician again pressed for him to be taken to Kunming, but regime officials again denied his urgent request. Mr. Li Wenbo has requested a physical exam and a judicial investigation concerning his injuries, but his request fell on deaf ears.
