Ms. Liao Dailan from Chongqing City Forcibly Taken to a Brainwashing Center


(Clearwisdom.net) On March 5, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liao Dailan (in her seventies) from Guangyang Town, Nanan District, Chongqing City was at her daughter's home in Dadukou District when she was arrested for no reason by police from the Guangyang Town Police Station in Nanan District and the Chunhui Road Police Station in Dadukou District. She was imprisoned at a brainwashing center located in the Wangxiangtai Country Club in Yubei District, Chongqing City, and her family is not allowed to visit her. Authorities tried to coerce her family into paying 3000 yuan as a "brainwashing expense." Her family refused this unreasonable request.

The arrest of family members and confiscation of their property has brought serious hardship to Ms. Liao Dailan's family. Because the police intentionally blocked information from reaching her, Ms. Liao Dailan's daughter is very worried about her mother's health condition.

The Falun Gong practitioners arrested in various areas of Chongqing City are imprisoned primarily at the brainwashing center in Wangxiangtai Country Club in Yubei District. Most are older practitioners. Ms. He Yangzhen (in her sixties) is one of these practitioners and there are several others from Nanan District.
