Huang Manping and Her Husband on Hunger Strike to Protest Their Illegal Detention in Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 5, 2008, Ms. Huang Manping, a practitioner from Lanshan County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, was arrested by plainclothes police officers while she was posting a truth-clarifying flyer near the door of the Zhushi Town Police Station.

Under the command of Huang Xiaobing (male), Political Commissar of the police department, Huang Xiaolan (female), Director of the National Security Section, and Duan Guofang (female), an agent from the 610 Office, the police officers from the 110 (emergency hotline) office, and the criminal section of the police department went to Ms. Huang's home in seven cars and ransacked it. Eyewitnesses said that the officers took five or six full bags from her home and arrested her husband.

Ms. Huang makes a living as a food vendor at the Lanshan County No. 2 Market. Her husband, Lu Yuexin, who is in his 50s, has been practicing Falun Dafa since 1996. He worked at a light industry machine manufacturer until he was laid off, but now works as a three-wheeled motorcycle taxi driver.

The day after the arrests, the 610 Office agents went to ransack Ms. Huang's home again. This time, they seized a satellite TV antenna.

Ms. Huang Manping and Mr. Lu Yuexin are imprisoned in a detention center. They are on a hunger strike to protest their arrest. Originally, before Mr. Lu began practicing Falun Dafa, he had severe bronchitis. He fully recovered after practicing Falun Dafa, but his bronchitis recurred after he was force-fed at the prison. According to an anonymous source, he may be in critical condition.
