(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to brutal treatment during their detention and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Renqing in Critical Condition in Tieling City Prison Hospital as a Result of Persecution
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Officers from Changchun City Police Department and Local 610 Office Arrest Practitioners in Schools
Officers of the Changchun City Police Department and the local 610 Office arrested practitioners in the Chalukou Town Central Primary School in Dehui City and the Dehui City No. 8 Middle School. They left the schools in chaos. Fortunately, some practitioners escaped.
3. [Pengshan County, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Arrested and Persecuted
There were several recent instances of persecution in Pengshan County. In early 2008, two practitioners were sentenced to forced labor. One of them was a woman in her 70s. In February, authorities arrested three more practitioners and threatened their families.

4. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Jing Harassed
Ms. Li Jing is a practitioner from the Huangpu District in Guangzhou City. In September 2007, she was arrested and subjected to brainwashing at the Guangzhou Brainwashing Center. She was not released until the following February. Since her release, local police and staff members from the neighborhood administration office have been going to her home to harass her. They even attempted to coerce her to disclose the whereabouts of other practitioners so they could persecute them as well.
5. [Guangdong Province] Officers from Zengcheng City Police Department and Local 610 Office Harass Practitioners
Officers of the Zengcheng City Police Department and the local 610 Office have been harassing area practitioners by visiting or phoning them and claiming to represent the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
6. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Guixiang Arrested Again
Ms. Wang Guixiang is a practitioner from Jiaokangzhuang Village, Wang Township, Langfang City. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor for practicing Falun Dafa. After her release, she was forced to flee her home for more than three years to avoid being rearrested. On March 2, 2008, police located Ms. Wang and arrested her again. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Chen Gang Arrested
Mr. Cheng Gang, 36, was arrested at work in the afternoon of January 17, 2008, by officers of the National Security Section, Baixia District, Nanjing City. They took Mr. Chen to his home in Wensi New Village, Baixia District, and searched it. They seized 3,000 yuan worth of currency that had been marked with truth-clarification statements. They also seized 18 DVDs and 48 pamphlets. The arrest warrant was issued to Officer Huang Shuicheng from the National Security Section, Baixia District, and Officer Pan Xiaozhong from a police station whose number is 86-25-84421265.
Mr. Chen's father is in his 70s, and he has been unable to eat or sleep while his son remains in custody.
8. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Practitioners Arrested and Their Property Seized
On March 1 and 2, 2008, police arrested eight practitioners in Fusong County. Three were from Songjianghe Town, and five were from Lushuihe Town. Police searched their homes and seized a personal computer, two notebook computers, and two motorcycles.

9. [Shandong Province] Ms. Feng Jinfang, Employee of the Doushan Reservoir Administration Center in Junan County, Arrested on March 5, 2008
10. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guiping On Hunger Strike
Ms. Wang Guiping, 56, was arrested on March 3, 2008, by officers of the Yongantai Police Department while she was clarifying the truth in the Nantai Market, Fushun City. The officers searched her home the same afternoon. Ms. Wang is currently being held at the Nangou Detention Center, Fushun City, where she is on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The detention center has denied her family visitation rights and is charging them a fee for force-feeding Ms. Wang.
11. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Zhang Guoqiang Arrested; His Wife, Ms. Wang Yuehui, Forced to Flee
In the afternoon on March 6, Guo Changjiang (male), chief of the Jinchanggouliang Town Police Department in Aohan Banner, Chifeng City; Yao Zhenting (male), a state security officer; and other officers searched the home of Mr. Zhang Guoqiang. They arrested him and seized equipment used to produce truth-clarification materials. They also seized bank deposit receipts and cash. His wife, Ms. Wang Yuehui, who is also a practitioner, has been forced to flee the area and has no place to live.
12. [Bengbu City, Anhui Province] Mr. Huang Andong, a Teacher at Hubin Experimental School, Arrested
On March 5, 2008, Mr. Huang Andong, a teacher at the Hubin Experimental School in Bengbu City, was arrested. He is being held at the Bengbu City No. 1 Detention Center. In addition, at around 10:00 a.m. on March 5, scores of officers from the Xincheng District Police Department in Bengbu City forced their way into the home of practitioner Mr. Liang Huaiyuan. They searched his home and arrested him. Mr. Liang was taken to the Bengbu City No. 1 Detention Center the same evening.
13. [Lanshan County, Hunan Province] Ms. Huang Manping and Her Husband, Mr. Lu Yuexin, Arrested, Their Home Searched
Ms. Huang Manping, a practitioner from Lanshan County, made her living by operating a food booth in the Lanshan County No. 2 Market. On March 5, 2008, she went to visit relatives in Liaojiayuan Village in Zhushi Town. While she was posting signs on the gate of the Zhushi Town Police Station, plainclothes officers arrested her. Police officers from the 110 Emergency Squad and the Crime Response Team then went her home in five or six vehicles. They seized a half dozen bags of personal items and arrested Ms. Huang's husband, Mr. Lu Yuexin, who is in his 50s. Mr. Lu has been practicing Falun Gong since 1996. He made his living by driving a motorized tricycle after he was laid off at the Light Industrial Machinery Factory. On March 6, the police searched the couple's home again and confiscated a satellite television antenna.
Both Ms. Huang and Mr. Lu are being held at an area detention center.

14. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Jinlian, a Practitioner from the Babaixiang Area, Arrested at Her Work Unit the Morning of March 8, 2008
15. [Hu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Hua Arrested
In the afternoon of February 29, 2008, Ms. Wang Hua, around 36 years old, was arrested by officers of the Hui'an Police Division in Hu County and the Hu County Police Department. She had been clarifying the truth and distributing materials to students on their way home from the Hu County Heat and Electric Factory School for Employees' Children. The officers also threatened her husband at their home and confiscated electronic books, truth-clarification DVDs, and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Wang is being held at the Hu County Detention Center.
16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Truth Clarification Materials Production Site Destroyed
At around 10:00 a.m. on March 6, 2008, a site used to produce truth-clarification materials near the Nanguangchang area in Changchun City was destroyed. Two practitioners had gone out to post truth-clarification signs. They were spotted by patrolling security guards, who followed them back to the production site and reported it to the 610 Office.
17. [Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Baozhong Taken to Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Wang Baozhong, a practitioner from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested at his home at noon on September 30, 2007. The police later took him to Jiangsu Province. It has been reported that Mr. Wang was unlawfully sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. On November 16, 2007, he was taken to the No. 4 Division of Fangqiang Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province.
18. [Ningxia Hui Nationality Autonomous Region] Mr. Xie Yiqiang Unlawfully Arrested
Mr. Xie Yiqiang has been unlawfully held in custody since February 2, 2008. It has been reported that the Ningxia Autonomous Region 610 Office officially placed Mr. Xie under arrest despite a lack of evidence.
Individuals from the Ningxia Autonomous Region 610 Office and officers of the Yinchuan City Police Department searched Mr. Xie's home twice in order to find something that could be construed as evidence. They also interrogated every person in Mr. Xie's work unit.

At 3:00 p.m. on March 5, 2008, Ms. Fu Dongxiu was sewing when officers from the Yueyanglou Police Department barged into her home without permission and arrested her.

20. [Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Jidongyu Township Party Committee Participates in Persecution
On February 4, 2008, Zhao Yongjiang (male), Deputy Secretary of the Jidongyu Township Party Committee; officers of the Jidongyu Township Police Department; and individuals from the Liaoyang County 610 Office harassed practitioners in their homes. They searched the homes, seized Falun Dafa books, and verbally abused and physically assaulted several practitioners.
21. [Guangxi Province] New Book, Religion, Sects, and Cults, Defames Falun Dafa
A new book entitled Religion, Sects, and Cults, compiled by the Committee on Studies of Social Issues and published by the Guangxi People's Press, contains a significant amount of material that defames Falun Dafa.
