University Student in Berlin: The Show Is Splendid, Like Fireworks in the Night Sky

(Clearwisdom.net) Between March 14 and 16, 2008, the Divine Performing Arts held four shows in the International Conference Center in Berlin, bringing traditional Chinese culture to German people.

The warm atmosphere inside the theater formed a contrast with the cold wind outside. Each performance was warmly applauded and every time when it came to the end of the show, the audience applauded for a long time, with multiple curtain calls.

On March 14, after the first show, some audience members shared their impressions of the Chinese Spectacular.

As Splendid as Fireworks

A law student from a university said excitedly, "The costumes were delicate and magnificent, and the female dancers were gentle and attractive. The whole show was splendid, like the fireworks bursting in the night sky. Full of longing for the beautiful future and the power of persistence, the show made people excited and inspired love of life. It encouraged people to face their lives with an optimistic attitude.

The Show Was Very Positive

Mr. Thorsten Beyer is a teacher at a high school. He commented, "Wonderful show, I really liked it. The show is very positive and I will take all these positive impressions back home. I liked the music very much and hope to get a record of the music of the show."

Tang Court Drums Were Wonderful

Mr. Bjorn Scholle, an assistant auditor, found the show excellent. "The ones I liked best were the 'Drummers of the Tang Court" and 'Mongolian Bowl Dance,' and the costumes were beautiful too." He thought the show was a good introduction to Chinese culture, but that people should do more to learn more about it.

The Drummers' Skills Were Superb

A psychologist was overwhelmed by the Spectacular. "There are several parts I liked. I especially liked the drum dance, the drummers' skill was superb, and the music of the show was beautiful, especially the Erhu." She also said, "I was surprised to learn how violent the Chinese regime is toward peaceful people."

'To View China from a New Angle'

"Chinese culture is colorful, and the show provided people with a new angle from which to view China," said Gabriela Morales-Nunez, a nurse. "I liked the drum dance very much, and all the dances were beautiful. The orchestra was excellent--there are not many chances to hear this kind of traditional music. It seems to make people feel at ease. The lyrics on the backdrop were full of expressive power."

MCs Helped the Audience Understand the Show

Engineer Mr. Gunter Unseld said the show exceeded his expectations. "The show was very good; the drum dance was excellent, wonderful. The two MCs were good, and helpful for the understanding of the show. The theme of the show was especially nice. The songs and music were a bit unfamiliar for me, but the lyrics on the backdrop helped me understand, very interesting. I really enjoyed it."

A former X-ray assistant praised the dances. 'The 'Drummers of the Tang Court' was very good, very impressive." She also liked the Erhu and thought the music of the dance about the persecution of Falun Gong "The Power of Awareness" was very good. "The way they depicted people helping them (the Falun Gong practitioner and her child) was very good. It was very powerful."
