A Few Understandings on Sending Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) We have been sending righteous thoughts for quite some time now. Apart from initially having taught us the two formulas and essentials of sending righteous thoughts, and publishing the articles "Righteous Thoughts" on October 13, 2002; "Eliminate the Dark Minions with Righteous Thoughts" on March 16, 2004; "Thoroughly Dissolve the Evil" on October 24, 2006; and "Disintegrate Completely All the Meddling Deities in the Three Realms that Have a Hand in Interfering with Fa-Rectification" on February 28, 2007, Master has also talked about righteous thoughts on various occasions. In "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference," Master said,

"Well in principle, as long as you're rational and clearheaded, making hand gestures or not won't affect anything. But, it's apparent from your hand gestures whether you've entered into tranquility or not, or if you've fallen into a foggy state. (Teacher laughs) So when you send righteous thoughts you have to be alert. And what's that state like? It's very pleasant, as if everything is still and quiet and the whole body is enveloped by energy"

and in "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles," Master said,

"When you send righteous thoughts, you aren't required to enter a state of tranquility wherein you are not thinking about anything. You do think when you send forth righteous thoughts, and your thoughts are [supposed to be] very strong. Right now you should mainly think about disintegrating the vile CCP's evil specter and those dark minions and rotten ghosts, about destroying them, and purging them. That is different from going into a state of complete tranquility."

I personally think that we need to pay attention to the following points when sending righteous thoughts:

Firstly, the force of our thoughts needs to be strong, with an air of supremacy and of destroying all evil in the cosmos, and without any fear. We are Dafa disciples. We are doing the greatest and most important thing in the universe. What does the evil account for?

Secondly, our hearts must be tranquil, without being absent-minded. Otherwise our supernormal abilities will not be able to find and lock onto the evil, let alone eliminate the evil. Master said,

"Actually, when you can truly be tranquil, one thought is more than enough to shake Heaven and Earth, there's nothing that it can't do, and it's as if it immediately immobilizes and restrains everything covered by your domain; you're like a mountain, and you instantly restrain them." (Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference)

Thirdly, our appearance must be compassionate and peaceful instead of frowning in anger or having the mentality of hatred. Otherwise, it will prevent the gong and the divine powers we send out from having the maximum effect. Master said, "When you send righteous thoughts, no matter how intense things get, the surface should be serene." (Righteous Thoughts) Master asks us to eliminate evil. It is the choice of Dafa--and the choice of Dafa disciples--not to let the evil persecute Dafa, persecute Dafa disciples, or persecute sentient beings. The evil we are eliminating is that controlling those who persecute us. If those who persecute us experience retribution for their misdeeds, they may well awaken to the truth and save themselves. Eliminating evil is our greatest compassion.

Fourthly, when sending righteous thoughts, we just focus on eliminating evil. No matter if we are eliminating a couple of demons, demons' dens, or searching for evil in a larger scope, all we should think is to eliminate evil. Then we will be able to lock onto our targets, and our supernormal powers will reach there. It is the same as a cruise missile that is capable of accurately guiding itself and accurately hitting the target. Some practitioners said to think of "Mie" when sending righteous thoughts. I personally think that is not quite appropriate. Because Master said that we do think when sending righteous thoughts. What we think is to eliminate meddling deities, dark minions and rotten demons, the CCP evil spirit, and the evil elements of the persecution. Focusing on "Mie" can only guarantee us of not being absent-minded and knowing that we are sending righteous thoughts, but it does not lock on the target, thus our divine powers and Fa weapon will not be able to find the evil and eliminate it. Of course, it doesn't mean that we go to the extreme and think about too many things.

Finally, let's not forget to eliminate the evil elements behind those sentient beings that we are trying to save. We should often eliminate the evil elements that control their brains. By doing that, it is must easier for them to quit the CCP, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers when clarifying the facts to them.
