Striving to Catch Up with the Progress of Fa-Rectification

By a new Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I started to practice Falun Gong in February 2007. I want to share what I have learned and experienced in the past year.

Teacher cleansed my body

Before I began to practice Falun Gong, I used to suffer from many diseases, such as heart disease, sciatica, and mastitis. In 2006, my heart disease was getting so bad that sometimes I couldn't sleep at night. I had difficulty breathing because of a distended stomach. I couldn't sleep well because of the nightmares I had. Just when I lost the will to live, I was introduced to Falun Gong.

One night after I started to learn Falun Gong, I suddenly felt that something was pushed out of my stomach. Since then, I no longer have any stomach distention. I couldn't help my tears from flowing. No words can describe my gratitude towards Teacher.

One day when I was reading the Falun Gong books, I suddenly felt dizzy, and my joints ached so much that I could hardly move. I also started vomiting and had diarrhea. Then I heard Teacher's voice, "Our Falun Dafa will protect practitioners from deviating. How does it protect you? If you are a true practitioner, our Falun will safeguard you. I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." (Zhuan Falun) I kept repeating those words to myself. Two days later, I was well again, as if nothing had happened. Later, I had sickness karma like that several times. I was able to overcome these episodes with faith in Teacher and the Fa.

Teacher watches over me

Because I started to practice very late, I always feared that I would be left behind when Fa-rectification concludes. With veteran practitioners' help, I gradually let go of this attachment and spent more time studying the Fa and doing the exercises. I never miss the four times to send forth righteous thoughts every day. If it is time for sending forth righteous thoughts when we are about to have a meal, I stop to send forth righteous thoughts and eat later.

My xinxing level has improved along the way, too. One morning, my husband told me that a neighbor's cat had killed our chicks. Forty-two chicks cost at least a couple hundred yuan. My heart wasn't moved at all. The neighbor offered to give us some money. I told her that I wouldn't take her money, since as cultivators we take the issue of money lightly. She then told me that I could kill the cat. I told her, "My Teacher tells us not to kill lives. It is also a life. I don't even kill flies if I don't have to."

When I started to practice Falun Gong, meditation in the full lotus position was a really tough test for me. At first I couldn't even sit with one leg on top of the other. Gradually, I could put one leg on top of the other. Later, I could mediate in the full lotus for several minutes, but I couldn't reach the state of tranquility because of the pain in my legs. Teacher tried to enlighten me many times in my dreams. I think we can never understand how much Teacher has done for us. I feel Teacher has helped me up and pushed me to higher levels. One day, I mediated in the full lotus position for 20 minutes. After I put my legs down, I felt so calm, as if my body had disappeared. I also saw a rectangular mirror in front of my forehead, and it emitted lights to far away. I knew Teacher was encouraging me.

Clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings

After I started to practice, my husband became more diligent in cultivation. Later, my daughter, my brother, and my sister all started to practice Falun Gong. Since Zhuan Falun is now out of print in China, I borrowed a copy from a local coordinator. Someone in our village borrowed it and kept it for two weeks. Later I learned that she had copied the whole book by hand.

In the beginning, I wanted to let people know they should quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), but I didn't how to do it. Gradually, I learned how. Whenever there is a wedding, I send forth righteous thoughts beforehand. Every time, I can persuade several people to quit the CCP and/or its affiliated organizations. I have already helped over 60 people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Some people do not understand why I distribute the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party or Falun Gong materials. But their teasing and sarcasm cannot move me, because Teacher told us that the only thing we have a role in is saving people. I think the process of saving people is also a process of improving one's xinxing. When a person refuses to quit the CCP, I always look into myself and search whether I am talking on too high a level, I am too anxious, or I need to improve my xinxing.
