(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts Touring Company of New York
arrives in Kaohsiung on March 4, 2008, to perform at the Kaohsiung County
Labors' Recreation Center. Kaohsiung County Commissioner Yang Chiu-Hsing
welcomed the arrival of the international company and said he would definitely
be in attendance at the show. He also urged art groups and everybody else to
seize the opportunity to see this superb performance. Video: (Kaohsiung
County Commissioner Yang Chiu-Hsing) Commissioner Yang said, "We hope many people come to the show because to
have an international group here is a rare opportunity. I hope that many arts
groups will come to the show as well." Yang has devoted a lot of effort to promoting art and cultural activities. He
thinks such activities can help people to improve their mind and spirit.
"The Divine Performing Arts uses Chinese culture as the main theme in their
programs. The group will contribute greatly to the art and cultural aspects in
Chinese society." Yang didn't get a chance to see the Chinese Spectacular in 2007 when
the group performed in Kaohsiung. He later saw a recording of the show and
thought it was great: "Superb, excellent. I wish their world tour great
success!" Ye Nan-Ming, Deputy Commissioner of Kaohsiung County, wished that the DPA
could perform in China and share this amazing "food for the soul" with
the Chinese people, "The arrival of the DPA will share spiritual guidance
with the people of Kaohsiung County. I hope one day the group can go to China so
people there can enjoy this wonderful food for the soul." Video: (Deputy
Commissioner of Kaohsiung County Ye Nan-Ming) In order for minority groups in Kaohsiung to be able to see the Spectacular,
a fund raiser was held on February 29 at the Kaohsiung County government. The
funds raised were donated to the Kaohsiung County Bureau of Social Affairs to
help 50 people from minority groups to go to the show.
