Incidents which Underscore the Seriousness of Cultivation

(Clearwisdom.net) A fellow practitioner shared a story with me a few days ago. A local practitioner fell and broke his arm while distributing truth-clarification materials in the evening. Before the accident, when he first picked up the truth-clarification materials, he noticed that there were facts about the framed self-immolation in Tiananmen Square. He started to complain about including such information in it, saying that people were not interested in this. As he did not have the right mindset and his thoughts were not based on the Fa, the evil took advantage of his gap and created interference.

This reminded me of two other incidents. In the early spring of 1999, a senior practitioner went to the practice site to watch Master's lecture videos. On her way back home, she fell down on the slippery road and broke her leg. Her family looked into several hospitals before finding one to perform an operation on her. Lack of staff members and scarcity of vehicles to commute were some of the reasons for their inability to get quick medical treatment. Master was actually giving this practitioner a hint to look inside at her xinxing and let go of her human notions. However, she didn't have righteous thoughts, failed to be enlightened from the Fa and so she ended up having an operation just like any other person. From what I know, this practitioner was a veteran practitioner. The practice site used to be in her home, and was moved to another practitioner's home when he became the local assistant. She became very jealous as she thought that this was unfair and so she ended up having this tribulation. It was a bitter and profound lesson.

Another incident in a nearby town involved an elderly couple, one of whom had a strong attachment to fear. One evening, the local practitioners distributed truth-clarification materials in our town and one practitioner was arrested. A local policeman went to harass them at their home the next day. The policeman asked if they had gone out to distribute truth-clarification materials recently, and whether they still practiced Falun Gong. Since a practitioner was arrested, and due to the harassment and implication which followed, the female practitioner's strong human attachments came out. She complained with anger, "Why do they always distribute materials? This would not have happened otherwise. How could we be implicated?" She didn't regard the situation with righteous thoughts, and the evil factors of the old forces took advantage of her gaps. She suffered symptoms of a cerebral hemorrhage that day and was sent to the emergency room for an operation. To date, she is still being cared for by her husband.

With these incidents, I think we can truly understand how serious cultivation is and how solemn and sacred Fa-rectification cultivation is. Master has always been with us, giving us hints to be responsible in our cultivation. We must watch over our every thought, regard ourselves as cultivators in every moment, maintain our xinxing, and assimilate to Dafa. Only then can we negate any arrangements by the old forces, and leave no gaps for the old forces to exploit. Otherwise, we may cause interference in our own cultivation, and cause an unnecessary loss in our efforts to save sentient beings.
