By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Chongqing Municipality, China

Forty-five-year-old Ms. Zhang Fan and seventy-year-old Ms. Zhang Zhongrong are Falun Dafa practitioners and retirees from Chongqing Changjiang Electrical (Group) Co. Ltd in Nan'an District, Chongqing Municipality. On January 13, 2008, the eve of the Chongqing Municipality's CCP conferences, Chen Qi (male), Director of the 610 Office of Nan'an District, Chongqing Municipality, led officers to search practitioners' homes, and then illegally arrest and imprison them at the Wangxiangtai Brainwashing Center in Gezigou, Yubei District, Chongqing Municipality.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on January 13, 2008, a group of officers quietly turned off the power to Ms. Zhang Fan's home. As one of Ms. Zhang's family members went out to check the circuit breaker, the police rushed in and ransacked Ms. Zhang's home, confiscating her Falun Dafa books and informational materials.

At the same time, another group of officers led by Chen Qi broke into Ms. Zhang Zhongrong's home. At the time, Ms. Zhang was at home with her husband. The officers searched her home, confiscated her Falun Dafa books and truth clarifying materials, and arrested her. Then, after 10 p.m., the same officers, still led by Chen Qi, went over to assist the police at Ms. Zhang Fan's home, and subsequently arrested Ms. Zhang Fan.

The police lied to the practitioners' families, telling them that the practitioners were taken to the local Tongyuanju Police Station. Actually that same night, the practitioners were taken to the Wangxiangtai Brainwashing Class in the Yubei District, Chongqing municipality.

Fifteen police officers were involved in the raids. Most of them were from the Nan'an District Police Department and the Tongyuanju Police Station in Nan'an District, Chongqin Municipality. Here is an incomplete officer list: Chen Qi (male, Nan'an Districut 610 Office Chair), Bai Fuyi (male), Ge Yong (male), Yang Haibo (male, Tongyuanju 610 Office Chair), Yang Li (female, Residency Officer), Xiang Daoxue (male), Wan Jing (female), Liao (male, first name unknown). The last five officers were from the Tongyuanju Police Station (86-23-62300345).

The CCP Committee of Changjiang Electrical Co., Wu Zhiqiang (male, security staff member of the Changjiang Electrical Co., and former company Fire Chief), and some retirees from the Tongyuanju Community Committee helped keep surveillance on the practitioners before their arrest. The retirees were Du Liangyou (male), Jiang Shulan (female), Tan Shuzhen (female), Zhou Haili (female), Yao Yunqing (female).
