Long Island, New York: Practitioners Take Part in Garden City Parade for the First Time (Photos) By a Falun Gong practitioner in Long Island, New York

Parade was held in Garden City, on Long Island, New York. It was the first
parade held in Long Island this year, and also the first time that Falun Gong
practitioners have participated in this annual event. The person in charge of
the parade and local residents praised the Falun Gong entry for its beautiful

Waist drummers play to enthusiastic spectators The parade set off at 1:00 p.m. and finished at 3:00 p.m., covering some of the busiest places in town on the way. The parade featured bands, Boy Scouts, marching bands, and attracted many spectators. Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, performed various traditional Chinese dances, and followed with a group of brightly costumed waist drummers.
