Hyde Park Community Fair is held annually and sponsored by the Channel 7 TV, The Western Australians and the Rotary Club. Many residents from Perth and nearby communities take part.

At 11:30 a.m. on March 3, the host introduced Falun Gong and practitioners demonstrated the exercises on stage. The host reminded the audience to go to the Falun Gong booth to sign a petition calling for an end to the persecution in China.

Seeing practitioners handing out flyers, some people said, "Falun Gong! I heard about that. Where do I go to sign the petition?"

Learning about the many millions of Chinese who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), many people said they would visit the Epoch Times website to learn more. A lady from Harbin City announced her withdrawal on the spot.
