(Clearwisdom.net) On March 4, 2008, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Chinese
Spectacular presented their first show at the Kaohsiung County Labor
Recreation Center which concluded to overwhelming applause. Ms. Lee Tsai-E, an
83-year-old dancer honored as a national treasure, enjoyed the wonderful show
and was deeply moved by the performance. She praised the program, saying that it
displayed strength and beauty, brought out a lost memory from long ago, and made
her feel like she was back in her teenage years. Divine Performing Arts moved the audience's
hearts Ms. Lee Tsai-E (first left) Audience's standing ovation Ms. Lee Tsai-E has been in dance education and cultural promotion for over 50
years. At 83 years old, she still dances lightly with a straight tall figure.
She studied dancing abroad in Japan when she was very young from her Japanese
modern dancer father Baku Ishii. She established her first dance studio in
Kaohsiung City, created a dancing trend in southern Taiwan, and she never
stopped dancing. Dance expert Ms. Lee Tsai-E praised the
Divine Performing Arts as "Truly marvelous!" As Ms. Lee watched the show, she sat at the edge of her seat, with her body
tilted forward, and joy filled her facial expressions naturally. She led the
audience in a standing ovation at the show's conclusion. Ms. Lee said of the Divine Performing Arts Company, "Truly marvelous! I
was imagining myself dancing with the performers on stage. I was so moved!"
She added, "Every piece was very good, made it easy for the audience to
have a good time, and every program expressed strength and beauty. The dancers
fully displayed their feelings and the inner meaning of the program. For
instance, the drummers were very powerful and sounded very clear. It was
spectacular! They made me, an 83-year-old woman, feel like I was back in my
teenage years. I truly thank all of you!" Ms. Lee is very appreciative of Divine Performing Arts for having a mission
to promote tradition in modern society, since traditions are declining. She
said, "I admire the DPA's artistic director and choreographer very much.
They do not forget our traditions, but they are also very creative. Those
dancers are so young, but they carry orthodox cultural heritage. They were so
marvelous! Truly marvelous! It is not easy to achieve this so well!" She said, "I believe everyone here feels the same as I do. We all can
find our long-lost memories and feel the genuine
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Really, I can feel their good wishes, which
truly touches my heart." In conclusion, Ms. Lee said, "This was my
first time seeing Divine Performing Arts, and I will certainly come again next
year." March 4, 2008
