(Clearwisdom.net) At noon on January 17, 2008, a group of police officers from the Shanan Police Department in Zhoukou, Henan Province intruded into sixty-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Fengqin's home. They ransacked her family's property, rummaged through chests and cupboards, and tossed everything around for more than two hours. After finding four small, truth clarification booklets on Falun Gong, Guo Fengqin was taken into police custody. To date she is still imprisoned and being persecuted at the Xiangcheng Lockup Center.

Guo Fengqin's 94-year-old mother-in-law, helplessly looked on as the group of police ransacked her home and took away her daughter-in-law, on whom she has depended heavily for so many years. While her heart aches, she was speechless, and all she could do was cry.

Ms. Guo Fengqin was 63 years old, and she had lived with her mother-in-law for more than 40 years. Her words and deeds were always respectful and caring toward her mother-in-law, and she never did anything to upset the older woman. In the eyes of their neighbors, Guo Fengqin was recognized as a filial and caring daughter-in-law. The older woman did not have a daughter, and she treated and loved Guo Fengqin

Both mother and daughter-in-law suffered from chronic illnesses, but after taking up the practice of Falun Gong in 1996, the abdominal hard lumps that the old woman had for several decades very quickly vanished without a trace. The intestinal tuberculosis that accompanied and puzzled Guo Fengqin for more than 20 years also disappeared without any medication. As they ascend in their moral and spiritual quest through the practice of Falun Gong, they have also developed a special bond and understanding for one another. The whole family's relationship and atmosphere was happy and harmonious.

After the Chinese Communist Party initiated the persecution of Falun Gong, by virtue of her own conscience as well as her own constitutional citizen's rights, Ms. Guo traveled to Beijing to peacefully appeal for Falun Gong's cause. Ms. Guo was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp for one year. All this time, the older woman would not leave her home, nor would she say anything. Every day, she sat silently inside her house, her eyes staring at the door, hoping her daughter-in-law would return home safely.

Once again her daughter-in-law has been arrested by the police. As it was, there was enough for her to worry about, especially her everyday needs, and her whole family's day to day living problems that need to be handled by her elderly son. Ms. Guo's mother-in-law can not understand why good innocent people are punished. Why are good citizens not allowed to live peacefully? Why must a happy family be broken up? The murmuring whisper and tears from the elderly woman made all the neighbors and relatives deeply saddened.
