Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuqing Arrested, Hospitalized in Guangdong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) At 9:25 a.m on February 22, 2008, Ms. Wang Yuqing was arrested at home by agents from the 610 Office and sentenced to forced labor. Recently, Ms. Wang was taken to the Guangdong Province Armed Police Hospital and there is no further information.

Her family became aware that officers planned to send Ms. Wang to the labor camp, however, because Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike for many days and she was very weak. She was rejected by the labor camp and returned to the Haizhu District Detention Center. When her family members applied for medical parole, it was rejected by the officers from detention center. They did not release Ms. Wang and did not allow her family to visit her.

Ms. Wang Qingyu was a manager of the Department of Business, Shenzhen City Development Bank, Haizhu Branch. In 1997, she began to practice Falun Dafa. She strove to act according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" and applied them in business. Her boss and colleagues only had good things to say about her.

Since July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Wang has been frequently mistreated. From 1999 to 2005, she was arrested many times. She was detained for five years. The life of her family was severely affected, along with their morale and financial status. Even after she was released and back home, the local police went to harass her.

There is a time that is called "sensitive time" by the CCP, the police and the agents of the neighborhood administration. They go to Ms. Wang's home and harass her and her family. At around 8:00 a.m on February 22, 2008, two officers from the neighborhood administration went to her home, the chief of the Sushexincun Neighborhood Administration, Tan Jintian (male), and a female. They coerced the elderly people at Ms. Wang's home to open the door. Later, four policemen went to her home, ransacked it and confiscated some personal items. Ms. Wang Yuqing was arrested.

One night, Ms. Wang's husband went to the police station to ask for her release. The police asked him to cooperate with them to convince Ms. Wang--in others words, to brainwash her. This was sternly rejected by her husband. At that time, Ms. Wang was detained at the Sushe Police Station. Later, Ms. Wang was transferred to the Haizhu District Detention Center where she was tortured.

Later, Mr. Wang's family went to the Haizhu District Detention Center, the Sushexincun Neighborhood Administration, the Sushe Police Station, the Haizhu District Police Department repeatedly and asked to be allowed to visit Ms. Wang. Their requests were always denied and the police had a bad attitude toward the family.

Her family continued to demand her release until March 12, 2008, when the family was given a document stating that Ms. Wang's had been sent to a forced labor camp for one year. The issue date was March 5, 2008. The family asked the police why they were not told earlier. They answered that it had been mailed out.

We call for the release of Ms. Wang Yuqing and all Falun Gong practitioners who have been arrested and detained.
