Supplementary Information About Arrested Practitioners in Mancheng County, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of March 31, 2008, several police officers, including Liu Guishuan and Liu Weidong, both from the National Security Group of Mancheng County Public Security Bureau in Hebei Province, forcibly took away Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yin Baoyin, who was on duty at the Beiping Hotel, and unlawfully held her at the Mancheng County Detention Center. Two days later, her younger sister, Yin Baoxian, went to visit her, but she was turned away. On the way home, Yin Baoxian was also taken into custody and unlawfully detained.

The Public Security Bureau, National Security Group, and the 610 Office of Mancheng County searched Beiping Hotel without a warrant and took both Wei Yanli, the manager of Beiping Hotel, and her father, Wei Haihe into custody. Ms. Wei Yanli is now being held at the Mancheng County Detention Center, and Mr. Wei Haihe is being held at the Mancheng County Public Security Bureau.

Beginning on March 12, plainclothes police monitored the Beiping Hotel. Mr. Wei's home, his cell phone and his home phone were under around-the-clock surveillance. They physically searched every person who went to Wei Haihe's private residence. Officers in a police vehicle kept watch outside the Beiping Hotel, which negatively affected business. Eventually the hotel failed, causing mental and economic losses for Mr. Wei's family.

On April 18, 2008, at the Mancheng County temple fair, practitioner Liu Xiuying and her eldest daughter, Wang Haixu, were busy selling goods. Policemen from Mancheng County National Security Group and Chengguang Police Station suddenly rushed into their store, took them away, searched their house and store, and confiscated their property. During the process, no credentials were presented and no reasons were given.

Liu Xiuying's husband passed away several years ago, and she and her two daughters were living a hard life. With help from their relatives, they were able to run a small department store in Mancheng County Food Market, but now their store is sealed up. The youngest daughter of the family is in primary school. With her mother and elder sister now gone, no one is taking care of her. The mother and daughter are now illegally detained at the Mancheng County Detention Center. Wang Haixu, who is in her 20s, is often taken to the forced-labor group and tortured.

Two weeks after being detained for no reason, Yin Baoxian returned home on March 28. Wei Yanli, Yin Baoyin, Wang Haixu, Liu Xiuying, and Wei Haihe are still unlawfully detained.
